wow, what a nice battle guys. i'm a newbee at 40k and i use the imperial codex with my squats. yes i said squats, stop laughing, i'm still building them up. i still need to make rhino's and tanks for support. i hope to some day soon fight them in a apocalypse battle too. may i ask two questions , one: do you know of any other squat players too, and two: i would like to use my squats trikes as best i can , so any suggestions on what way or codex to apply ???

you roll as many dices as you have guns in your squad.

Then you check how many dices roll above a certain number (the to hit) for orks it is 5+ in a 6 sided dice.

in the second step the oponent rolls a dice for every hit you got (means for orks for every 5 or 6 he got (let's assume it were 4 out of 10))

every gun has a certain strength... and every soldier also

then you have a table, on which both strengths are compared

and then you roll again... let's say a model dies with a 4 +

so out of 4 - 2 usually make it thru

this is the usual dmg your weapons would've done

now it's time for armor, if you got it...

ork armor for example has 6+ protection

and space marine is 3+ armor

means that out of 10 shots from orks usually 1 kills a space marine .

But orks are not known to be the best shooters ;)

they pwn in close combat :D

and have some special rules for that....

ok and for every kill you make, the defender can chose what miniature is taken off of the field

truthfully speaking from a fluff stand point its an IG only tank, but it hasnt stoped people from bringing it in using the allys chart. IG & space marines working together is a no brainer.

@SightlessBlind I know your comment is 9 months old, but, you are wrong, there are Legion Fellblades(actual fluff on them places them during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy) however, because of the legions being split up, plus a majority of them being destroyed during the Horus Heresy, Fell Blades are a raresight, Legion Fellblades were used by certain Legions, Ultramarines/Imperial Fists, would use them but others such as White Scars wouldn't because it would slow them down.

bikers do get that 4+ cover save. They can turboboost too, and they have twin linked dakkaguns. Not to mention you can hide those power claw nobs in there.

Or even better. Mount a whole horde of nobs on bikes.

I am gona start building a deamon hunters army of GreyKnights! i think they look awesome. to be honest I would wait. the speculation is that the Inquisition codex's are going to get combined. last thing you want to do is build an apocalypse scale grey knights army only for GW to release a codex that screws it up(not to mention the plastic models making you wish you had waited)

i play grey knights and they are totally worth the points you are spending. a lot of people don't suggest it but i would say to get a grand master for your HQ choice. my grand master single handedly took out a nurgle chaos lord and his retinue and a greater deamon of nurgle by himself.

I played a 6 man tournament back in 96. 12 hour days. 5k point armies. Took 3 days to finish the game. 4 space marine players, one eldar player and myself as chaos. I came in second place and the eldar player won. His avatar was unstoppable. I would have won but my rolls were bad and his avatar and firedragons took out my artillery. Was a fun day. One of our wh40k buddies has over 10,000 bucks in figs. Has 7 titans (full size) and over 100 vehicals. I miss those days. Nice collections in the vid

I'd get some Khorne berserkers. Going with just one chaos god usually just doesn't work, unless you go with Chaos undivided (but they're kind of boring :p).

With Berserkers and Plague Marines, you get a good balance of ranged and assault troops.
