This plot is really the proof that the vilest perversion is abstinence and total prohibition, enforced by anally repressive shitheads who claim their so-called 'duty for moral' right. Come on, let young people f*ck already!
I'd never really thought about the chronology of the hookah scene before, but...
*SPOILERS* I'd always assumed Lucien became The Nemesis upon Alexandria's death, but the fact the Alchemists are alive here suggests he became The Nemesis - and hid it from them - long before that, in fact from the time they tried to split Alexandria and him up. OR... was Thaddeus Kaine the original Nemesis? Perhaps this was partly a ploy on Hamilton's part to get her lover Kaine in on Sartorius and Malveaux' plan?
It's a shame the second cutscene (the amulet) is so fiddly to trigger as it's an excellent performance by William Morgan Shephard, and is the source of one image used in the advertising and featured on the back of the box!
Thanks for posting this movies though The1Nostalgic
You know it took me many play-throughs to work out how to access the cutscene with that amulet due to the fact that you have to be at that one stupid angle to access it.
Thanks for the tip on the bell-rope. I was uncertain if I would be able to get around that.

Certain parts of this game are very challenging. Anyone who honestly completes this game without a walkthrough is very smart!

Could someone transcribe the poem at 3:29?

Is that a paintng at 9:13? Does it exist in real life or just made for the game? It's amazing.

"The Fall of the Damned" - Peter Paul Rubens
I do believe that all of the artwork featured in the game is real and licensed.
If you want more info on other paintings, check out the credits in the last part of the longplay.
