Yes they are included in the price. A tip for saving money-Always get a coach seat and ask what it would cost to upgrade after you are on-board. This will save you hundreds of dollars and the meals are still included. Just an example, me and my grandfather took a train trip to Canada last fall. We got upgraded to a roomette on the Empire builder for 150 for the whole trip, talk about a deal.
