this type of instrument actually has brought back to Erope by the crusadors about hmm 700 or 800 years ago from Arab... then it has evolved to the piano-forte.. it was a popular instrument around 17 to 18 century in Europe.. so Dont be suprised when you see this type of instrument in Arab and Asia
I just love your rendition of this song. I'm just getting started with the hammer dulcimer and would love to try this song. Would you share the music?
Thanks !! We actually don't have the arrangement written down. You can find "the Butterfly" in several HD books or just try looking on the net for an arrangement.
EASE DO NOT READ DONT READ THIS PLEASE DO NOT READ DO NOT READ DO NOT READ swear do not read...I don't even know why I'm participating I guess I'm still a bit paranoid. But really do not read this I swear . Also thanks this was really appreciated. DO NOT READ:This is so stupid... But i love my mom deeply... And i don't want to take any chances. Sorry. If you do not copy and paste this onto 10 videos your mom will die in 4 hour
Excellent sound - my own hammered dulcimer is a Thai khim, but being of primarily Scottish heritage, what I play on it still tends to sound a bit Celtic. I hope you post more videos!
It's an Irish tune, you can google it, and there's a version in Karen Ashbrook's Playing Hammered Dulcimer in the Irish Tradition. If you google "BBC Irish Sessions" you will find a virtual jam session with the music and musicians playing it with you!
