Thank you for the documentraries 1-4, so much information. I'm trying to find a part of my heritage beginnings. This has given me more insight on the Native American People and where they came from. It"s a hard road trying to find information on my ancestors, because my Native American heritage began in the early 1800 hundreds. Everytime I think I'm close, I hit a dead end, but I can be a Very stubborn person, so I keep on trying. Thank you again, Nai'a

Furthermore this documentary is actually very limited and mostly deals with the people of the plains.

I think you should better watch the film "Dreamkeeper" for a short but more varied depiction of Native American customs. Or "Reel Injun".

@hennah11 Not necessarily. You forget that people change stories to suit their whims also. The stories about Little Bighorn prooved right but that doesn't mean that all stories are correct. But they can give you hints. E.g. in the book White Wolf Woman, there is a story called "Magic Beasts", albeit clearly not an actual report of events it points towards the contacts between Comanche and Spaniards.

Every human on the planet shares 99.9% of the same DNA. In the 0.01% remaining is where we find the differences that helped us to evolve different features based on our regional location. At the end of the day we're all the same beneath the skin and we all can trace our origins back to the migration out of Africa. Why hate on each other for cultural differences when in essence we are all the same? We need to learn tolerance and appreciation.

I wonder what native American women´s attitude towards poligamy was... They seem "submissive" at first, but is that they really think? Also, I find these people´s religious dancing rituals so similar to those of African tribes that I wouldn´t be surprised if native Americans and n. Africans descended from the same human race dating hundreds of million of years ago, even if native Americans deny that they came to the American continent across the Bering Straight, and that they were born there.

@AlanMartinNala there are many similarities of the North American Aboriginal peoples and their traditions to many of the world populations, I suspect some of the strongest similarities are not so much to African tribes but, more so to Asia and Asian peoples. There are many theories and arguments for each on how Aboriginals got to this continent, it is enough I would suggest that they were here for time immoral. Better to ask where the Germanic tribes came from in Europe???

Check out Siberian Natives "not Russians who live their. natives" the similarities are uncanny. So no sorry, their not from Africa.But good idea.:)

But to me that´s been rather narrow-minded: that native Americans have no written data to prove that they were born in the land (not coming across the Bering Straight) doesn´t necessarily mean that they´re lying. It´s just their tradition. Scientifical data seem to be cutting our view on the world too short indeed. In other words, we seem to rely so much on science and visual data that we are probably not so aware of it.

Good documentary. But they ought to be a little more truthful about Plains Indians warriors "nobly fighting for their land" as the narrator states in the end. These tribes often avioded direct confrontation with solders and instead attacked settlements, killing men and children (the ones that weren't stolen) and gang raping woman. The tribes did this to whites, Mexicans and each other. And of course there were terrible atrocities committed against natives as well. Let's not sugar coat it 2 much.
