@varshapavitra That video was taken in August 2009. (The first time i made the oil) As you can't see in this video, the windows in the back and in the front were open. Also the front door and the hall door were also wide open. And we had a ventilator. And yes the gasses doesn't do any good for our health. Now more than 2 years later i have a place on the veranda half outside where i make the oil with much more experience. Blessings.....

if you leave it under 40 seconds, you will have no green in your oil. It will be brown with a gold color to it. Its the highest quality you can achieve threw this method with iso. Pour the shake in the jar, top the iso off for its just over the material you put in the jar. Shake it for 20-30 seconds then dump the iso into another jar. If you got a tea strainer it will be better. Then use a coffee filter strain it threw again. The liquid will be yellowish almost like piss, get a pot and cook,

@zammy1992 No. In hash, the oil is still inside thousands of bulbous "trichomes". The "shells" or "vacule walls" of these trichomes have no medicinal value whatsoever, since they only consist of a simple celluloid. The "oil" inside the trichomes is what contains all these phenols and terpenes the plant produces. And that's what we're after, all of it, not just the THC, but all the other compounds as well, this is very important. With solvents you leave the celluose behind for a cleaner product!

Butane and/or hexane is used (for all I know) only in "washing" the resin off the plant, i.e. the plant material is never really submerged in the solvent, so here we have to figure out how much solvent to run over the plant before we have strpped everything off of there. With alcohol, ether, napther (no good IMO) leaving the bud submerged for more than ca. 30 sec will draw back on the quality and darken the "oil".

That's the old school way. For more potent oil, try using the butane extraction method (honey oil) Both of these methods always run the risk of EXPLOSION when done indoors. Making hash from bubble bags would be a lot better idea from a safety perspective

@wakeupsleepyhead... Its not the old way or the new way, you can make honey oil from iso aswell. The reason why Rick doesnt use the butane method is because its a way more unstable component than iso and when he's giving it away for free, iso yeilds more extract than the butane method

you will find ISO at wallmart or any pharmacy in small 600ml bottles for around 3 bucks and 1lt for around 12 bucks. Im not sure about the states but we have a place called buckerfields, they sell livestock feed and outdoor garden stuff. they sell the 1 gal for 25bucks
