For all we know, Mars could've been the first planet in our solar system that sustained life at one time. It's already been established that it used to have water judging from the rock formations clearly caused by weathering. And the fact that it's only a bit further from the sun than Earth. Our planet could end up like Mars someday over a billion years from now.

I seriously doubt those are alien remains. Ok, if you look at earths surface from the same distane the camera saw on mars i don't think you'd be able to see a living creature. Even a blue whale would look really tiny. Those are probably just rocky hills and oddly shaped landscapes. Its natural for the human mind to try to recognize patterns when there is really nothing there.
