  • Boondock Saints 3 theme WOOOOO

  • @spike9985 What in another 10 years? Boondock Saints 2 was the biggest load of shit I've seen in a while.

  • @nickyboy22071989 Negotiations for funding are going a lot better than they did with BS2 due to Patrick Duffy deflating his ego a bit, so it probably won't take that long for BS3 to be made.

  • @2wingo I do hope so, the first one was awesome

  • Good, very good. But you'll never hold a candle to the great Luke Kelly.

  • @nickyboy22071989 That's kind of a given - NOBODY will ever hold a candle to Luke Kelly.

  • @2wingo Completely impossible, thank Christ someone agrees with me. I think I'm the only Australian who knows who Luke Kelly is.

  • Long live Ireland, from Catalonia!

  • Young Dubliners should do the soundtrack for Boondock Saints III

  • 35 million! The Irish sure know how to fack!

  • I don't know why but this makes me proud to be an american. :)

  • @spike9985 At least 35 million Americans are of direct Irish descent. That's almost 6 times the population of Ireland herself.

  • made a music vid of this using prezi. going to upload it soon!

  • When I first heard their name, I thought that they would one of those "tribute" bands that ripped off The Dubliners. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had their own style, and are quite good.

  • This song should be our National Anthem!!

  • i am irish livin in spain heard this version played on spanish station i av been searchin for it. love it :)

  • God, discovered too many bands this week... can't keep up

  • Just bought it love this song love the Young Dubliners <3 <3

  • Jaysus!

  • England is the most aggressive, racist, war-mongering, genocidal country that has ever existed on the face of the earth.

  • @JerryF47 good thing that is England and not Ireland.

  • @JerryF47 Hahahahaha. Yes, so much worse than the Nazi holocaust. Or Stalin's killing fields. Or WWII Japanese atrocities. Or Rwanda. Or the Balkans, or Ottoman Turkey, or Irag, or Darfur, or East Timor. You can't go anywhere in England without tripping over a mass grave... Xenophobia ensures that there are no immigrants or ethnic minorities in the UK at all and never have been, and the country is closed off to international trade entirely!

  • @Ghigo333 Wasn't aware the UK was a dictatorship. If you want independence then vote for parties which will promise you a referendum on the matter. The Scottish did, and hopefully they'll get their independence if they so desire it. Don't get me wrong, I fucking love this music, but I'm proud of my Irish and English heritage, so lets not make enemies out of brothers.

  • @Ghigo333 Yes you may quote a list of battles where we English lost, but remember this, the Union Flag is still composed of St. Andrews', St. Patrick's and St. George's flags...now how did that all happen?

  • @Ghigo333 18 fucking Saxons would kick the arses of 469 fucking Celts

  • @seanwise93 If they're all fucking how is anyone going to kick anyone's arse?

  • when you buy the song you arent giving the band money unless they have royalties in there contract which i doubt seeing so few artists do or profitable ones

  • ok, after listening to this about 100 times, i bought the CD :)

  • i am not paying 9 buckss for one song. i'm sorry but no

  • @themidnightromantic Why would you pay 9 bucks? Who's telling you to pay 9 bucks? No one should pay 9 bucks for a song.

I'd only consider paying 9 bucks for a song if it was by Peter Gabriel or Warren Zevon.

  • @BarbaricGoose for a new song from Warren Zevon I would pay my left nut.

  • @BarbaricGoose it's 99 CENTS!...not $9.

  • @JohnMan59 He said $9 bucks (not cents), and I agreed with him; I would not pay $9 for a song unless, like I said, it was by Warren Zevon. I'm still trying to hunt down Real Or Not. I know it's on the anthology, but I already have all the other songs on the anthology, so I don't really buy it again, but I may have to.... I digress.

  • @BarbaricGoose can't you just buy this song on itunes?

  • @179jfkla Sorry, did I say that you couldn't?

Because that's actually where I bought it.

  • @BarbaricGoose

    Werewolves of London ftw.

  • Uma imensa carga de história em uma única música. Não é qualquer um que faz isto!

  • there are songs that can have no wrong done to them becuase they are just that awesome this is one of them

  • This is fucking terrible and nothing like the true version.

  • @staringintotheabyss And what is this "True version" that you speak of?

  • @BarbaricGoose, the dubliners or sinead o'connor. Im not saying you SUCK as a band, but the notes are definitely not where they're supposed to be for the song. It doesn't have that Irish feel, it definitely feels lacking.

  • @staringintotheabyss Of course the notes are not "Where they're supposed to be." A carbon copy cover would be rather boring. Not that the Dubliners version is boring, but a cover that sounds exactly the same would be quite boring. The great thing about folk music is that the popular songs get covered by such a wide variety of acts. Hell, even Metallica covered Whiskey in the Jar, and while you may not like Metallica's cover, the fact that they covered is, I think, wonderful.

  • @staringintotheabyss And there is no "True" version. You might be more partial to Sinead's version, but she wasn't the one to write the song, nor were the Dubliners. We don't know who was, so there can't be a "True" version. I think that's great. It doesn't discourage anyone from covering it, and keeps the music fresh. Generations that would've never heard this kind of music are being introduced to it thanks to the likes of Metallica, and yes, the Young Dubliners.

  • @staringintotheabyss I don't understand how you can say garbage like "This is fucking terrible." If you like this kind of music, you should appreciate the fact that it's being covered, and applaud those who cover it, not lambast them for having the courage to try something new and unique with the song.

  • @BarbaricGoose, I am not going to applaud a song that does not contain the rhythm of the lyrics it's meant for merely because it's a "cover". Bad covers exist, this is one in my opinion.

  • @staringintotheabyss You don't see many artists covering the popular songs of today. You might hear one or two covers of, say, Poker Face, but how many covers have you heard of Foggy Dew? I can't even remember how many I've heard. And, as I mentioned earlier, not all of the covers are from folk acts. That is a trademark of folk music, and people like you who insist that the only good version is the one by the Dubliners, or the Chieftains, or Sinead, piss me off so much that words fail me.

  • @staringintotheabyss I think all those versions are great, but that doesn't mean that this one isn't; you just can't appreciate it, and I can't--and wouldn't--force you to. There's reason you have to enjoy it, but you don't have to insult it, either. No one's forcing you to be an asshole, you know.

  • @staringintotheabyss Sorry for all the comments, but as I said, people like you piss me off. Also, it's not my band. I'm in NO way affiliated with the Young Dubliners.

One last thing. Notice how they named the album "With all due respect." But, yeah, they can take that respect and shove it up their non-Irish ass, right?

  • @BarbaricGoose, who cares what they named it and if you're in the band, my comment was about the song. The rythm doesn't suit the lyrics or the song.

  • Thumbs up for 95 anniversary of Easter uprising on sunday.

  • I get to see this band this summer!!!! Cant wait to see them agai! Saw them last year at Irish Fest and got to talk to them! Really cool, nice people! :)

  • The music in this song is amazing! I just CANNOT STAND THE SINGER! Whoever he is, his voice is cheesy and waaay over dramatic. Also, he's a bit flat.

The singer from their album "breathe" was a lot better.

  • Nice..., True colors,mate

  • ERIN GO BRAGH

  • Oi oi oi! Happy Paddy day lad's!

  • this song is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Going to see them tomorrow night at the National in Richmond, VA

  • When you buy a song legitimately, you're only giving money to the record label. If you really wanna support a band, go to their live shows, and buy their merchandise. I wish I could go to see these people live, they're lovely.

  • @YogurtArchangel Yes, if you want to support them you should buy their merch and go to their shows.

But the record label getting the majority of the money is not a reason to steal their music; they get NOTHING if you pirate their music. If you wanna pirate their music, I won't stop you, but don't pretend that you're justified in doing so.

  • @BarbaricGoose Oh, I won't pirate their music, I'll just listen to it on youtube or Pandora. You do have a good point though. It's a shame bands/artists hardly get anything from their album sales.

  • @BarbaricGoose Just so you know, since finding this on YouTube last month, I've bought two of their albums. Never let it be said that YouTube is not good marketing!

  • @gbprime I'm sure the young dubs would be happy to hear that.

  • @BarbaricGoose Yeah, I bought the song for my phone. Prob gonna get it for my Kid's phone, too. Eire Go Bragh

  • Comment removed

  • @YogurtArchangel im going to see them tonight.

    i definately will buy merch

you proved your point 100 percent,

  • @YogurtArchangel Your still not helping much. A lot of it still goes to the label, they just get a cut.

  • @YogurtArchangel that is unless you're talking about offspring. then go ahead an buy the CD.

  • @YogurtArchangel They rock so hard live-- i went with bros and my parents. Even though the 'rents had earplugs in, they were still loving it. YD is getting a little old, but they still blow your mind.

  • @YogurtArchangel i have seen them twice and they are indeed amazing! idk where ur from, but every sept.17th there is a fabulous irish festival called i2k irish fest in ballston spa, ny and they usually attend yearly! i have a signed tshirt from everyone in the band and they are a great group of guys! very nice and personable!! they actually took the time to have a conversation with a guy about music! LOVE THEM!!!!!

  • @YogurtArchangel I completely agree. The records are are in business for one reason, to make money. And they make money for only one entity, themselves.

I'm American but my heritage among other things is 25% Irish, 25% English. However, I believe every country should be allowed to break free from any governing body they do not feel is doing them justice.

GIVE IRELAND BACK TO THE IRISH!

  • well, atleast we got a chance it will be released in guitarhero now, besides that i just dont like this version. The dubliners version had a nice melody flow in it... this kinda feels like rape...

  • @kwondoo you can like any music you like and hate all the music you hate, however understand that folk music is unique in that the songs are ment to be replayed by many different people, its not artist specific like most genres of music are. so though you can hate this if you like but thats part of folk.

  • @punkhippe i never said i hate this version, i say i dont like it. I listen this song in many versions wich also good to listen. im just saying what i think about this one.

  • its 1.29 on itunes

  • cool or what ? xD

  • Anybody know a link to tabs for this version? I want to rock this song!

  • .......so how about them redsox? lol

  • Comment removed

  • @BarbaricGoose because i only like 1 song not the entire album and i dont have a credit card because im too young. why do you think we all download free music?

  • I'm Irish - my great great grandmas half-brothers wife was born in Kerry

  • @SaoirsesAnaAccount haha awesome

  • @therejects1000 that was a joke btw, I actually am Irish

  • @SaoirsesAnaAccount .......................ok

  • Irish resent being liked or admired by foreigners ;-)

  • @gaikokugo1 thats because we are used to being made fun of and discriminated against so we can't take them seriously.

  • @gaikokugo1 That's not true.

  • @Nakata995 Both of you are dead wrong. I've yet to hear a version of this song that I thought was bad, because none of them are. The both of you can go screw yourselves.

  • @BarbaricGoose You do realize that this is 110% opinion based, right? You can't tell someone to screw themselves because they dont like a song. Just like he cant tell you someone has raped it. Lol.

  • @theatomizer Oh, I'm sorry. From now on I'll point out when something I'm saying is my opinion. Even though since I'm saying it, it's probably safe bet that it is my opinion, and not someone else's. That is my opinion.

  • @BarbaricGoose Well, thats a good point. I just mean't you shouldn't tell someone they're wrong. All it really did was ad unnecessary hostility to the comment. Get it? Thats my opinion anyway. :p

  • @theatomizer It's the internet; it's 90% hostility, and nothing you say or do can change that. When someone says something to me in a kind way, I respond in a kind way. Likewise, if someone's an acting like an asshole, then I'll do that, too.

  • @BarbaricGoose Well, okay then... And I didn't mean to be hostile, just in case you thought I was. :o

  • @BarbaricGoose i could not have said it better myself ;0 lololol..... truer words i have yet to hear ;)

  • this is fucking awesom!!

    i love it!

  • At the enda the day, ''up a RA''

  • Although I like the original version the Young Dubliners did, this is a nice variation. Definitely worth the listen. I <3 Ireland, the land of my ancestors.

  • wata version lads lethal

  • Saw YD tonight at I2K and they did this song...totally rocked!

  • love it

  • Insert some grammatically incorrect comment about how if you’re not Irish you shouldn’t listen or some posh racist slur from a Loyalist or Republican. JUST SHUT UP AND DANCE! :O)

  • english and proud of it

  • @timminsmark and why?

  • @welshperson123 for the peace, freedom and culture we have brought to the world and we could not have achieved all this without our loyal welsh servants and those noble savages the scotish

  • @timminsmark not really you just fucked everything up..

  • @timminsmark so..does anybody care? is that how you comment?

  • affengeil ist das - love from Germany

  • Great band love the different take to it brill. Love it..

  • 'Twas better to die 'neath an Irish sky' I can listen to this song all day and that line will still raise da hairs on the back of my neck!

  • 'Twas down the glen one Easter morn

to a city fair rode I

There was Armed lines of marching men

    in squadrons passed me by

No pipe did hum nor battle drum

    did sound it's dread tattoo

But the Angelus bell o'er the Liffey swell

rang out o'er the foggy dew Hail!!!!!

  • this song makes me want to find the nearest english guy and stab him in the eye.

    scary.

  • @AJScally ahh dont worry I already got em 4 you... right in the nuts...and like an englishman he cried about it...lol haha

  • man i love this song

  • quite a few "plastic paddy's" gave their money to NORAID and moved widowmakers across the Atlantic, and found themselves in a great deal of trouble as a result. why not appreciate the help from across the water, instead of talking shit? you bigoted bastards aren't any better because of where you born and live. Pissing on the union jack should be enough

  • i love the irish

  • This is awesome i love songs like this :D

  • this rules

  • Powerful version.From a ballad to a battle cry.

  • No question. That's the best version I've heard aside from Blaggards

  • i love the dubliners and this is there

  • 'Twas better to die 'neath an Irish sky than at Suvla or Sud El Bar

That line still raises the hairs on the back of my neck.

  • up the ra

  • I heard mp3iiffy is the best site to download songs like this. Google mp3iiffy.

  • I heard mp3iiiiify is the best site to download songs like this. Google mp3iiiiify.

  • Irish music is awesome

  • Comment removed

  • @brightsidelabs if you were actually irish you would know irish people dont talk like that. you make it so obvious youre trying to be irish when you say "me" every chance you get. and its not "pa" its "da"

  • I applaud this song's original version, this more contemporary interpretation, the fine land it came from, and BarbaricGoose's previously demonstrated ability to tell people to fuck off.

  • I wish I was more Irish than I am. 4 of my 8 Great grandparents are full blood Irish which I guess means I am half Irish (as far as ancestry goes, born and raised in U.S.) But I absolutely love this song!

  • @Vessel012 An american who has distant irish ancestry is to me about as Irish as an African bushman. It's not about the blood you inherit, it's the blood you give and your patriotism.

  • @IamDaReAlSeaN well said

  • @BarbaricGoose im so sick of these people who doubt the heritage of irish americans. guess what. its not up to u to decide if our blood is irish enough. we know who we are. i may not be all irish but i still got the blood . the fire of the irish burns strong in me and all the negative comments in the world wont change that.

  • @pureliam wath should i be? my mother camoes fro ma scot and an irish my dad from germans and dutch en way back in the family tree there is swedish blood. wath should i call myself?

  • LONG LIVE DA IRISH<3

  • Comment removed

  • Who's pretending to be Irish, and how the hell would you know they're pretending?

  • @BarbaricGoose He dont hes just saying his opinion and well so in that case i usualy just ignore these kind of post that you replied to but you do got a point =)

  • So, by liking Irish music, you're pretending to be Irish? No, don't use logic in you're thinking. That would be stupid.

I like Rammstein, so I guess that means I'm pretending to be German. I also like Sting, so that must make me British. I like Devin Townsend, which makes me Canadian. I like Bjork, which makes me Icelandic, and I enjoy Chopin, which, obviously makes me Polish.

You see where I'm goin' with this? Complete bullshit.

  • @BarbaricGoose

    Well said

  • @BarbaricGoose ... oh, SNAP! :P

  • @BarbaricGoose

    genius response

  • @BarbaricGoose

i like rammstein, townsend and chopin too! You should check out Ludovico Einaudi, an Italian piano composer, who is also an amazing artist

  • @slash667 Wow. It's been quite a long time since I've heard anything as wonderful as Divenire. I'm a fan now. Thanks for that. Cheers!

  • @slash667 Holy crap, I though I'd be the only listening to this combination of music! I love Einaudi since I heard the soundtrack to "This Is England" (awesome movie) and I can also recommend Yann Tiersen, a french composer. Try to look up " Rue des cascades", the live version.

    Greetings, VH

  • @VerHohnert I've been a fan of Yann Tiersen for years :)

  • @BarbaricGoose exactly!!!! i love irish music more than any other and im only a quarter irish...im not saying im 100% irish but i am saying i can identify with that culture more than any other.

    Peace brother!

  • ok what the freak?!?!?!it's called being a desendent. to be irish doesn't mean you have to be born in ireland.you're not pretending smart one, it's called being proud of your ancestry. another thought, if they aren't really irish take it as a compliment that they want to be. i mean this with all due respect ok?

  • @Flamesong14

it doesn't mean you have to be born in Ireland, sure I was born in Germany! it's about where you are BROUGHT UP or where you have lived all or most of your life, many people have been "adopted" into their communities in ireland, and their children are just as Irish as anyone elses, There is a MAJOR difference between ancestry and nationality. If you are not from Ireland, haven't lived here and/or refused to become one with the community then I don't count you one bit Irish.

  • @pureliam so many americans claim to be irish because....well, there are 60 freaking million of us here, brother.....we claim to be irish because we were born and bred irish....... good god man, we have the brits hiding over here..... you never hear anybody claim "i'm proud of the british bulldog" man-they know they'll get slobberknocked....especially in Chicago....

  • In all honesty, are u irish born?

  • @pureliam my Fathers family came from Co Donegal, my Mothers side from Co Cavan.... but if they had not, if we weren't 100%, would you have a problem? if we have never been there because we hadn't the money, would you not count us among you?

  • @pureliam dev was american or irish ye cunt???

  • @pureliam I'm not one bit of Irish but if these people claim to be then so what? They may be born and raised in America but that doesn't mean they can't respect their heritage of their parents, grandparents, etc. You have much to learn about Americans.

  • @pureliam Your an idiot. I like this music because I like this music not because I'm Irish. Although I am also Irish. Stop pretending to be American btw. Youtube and the internet is our thing go back to milking your cows and drinking your tea.

  • With All Due Respect, One of the best bands ever!

Come to Colorado. See them live at Little Bear!!!

Rock on my Irish Rock Brothers!!!!

  • Sounds a whole lot like Black 47.

  • luke kellys version is best
