Swimming Corgis!

They are really good swimmers! My corgi sometimes accidentally jumps in because he gets too excited when we play volleyball, and he just looks like he immediately regrets it!

I take my Corgi out to the lake all the time. She'll swim out past the wake buoy with me, they're really great swimmers, she loves it too.

My corgi loves swimming at the Dog Park, and can out-swim many of the dogs there. He learned to compete and beat my girlfriend's Golden Retriever.

@ikillpizza i own a corgi, Finn, and yes they can swim but I would recommend taking down to a creek where there are places for him to touch. My dog has a knee problem and swimming is very good for him so he can get exercise while not hurting himself. good luck with your knew puppy! :))

@ikillpizza They can swim (most don't like water,) but if you get them accustomed to it they will really have a good time. The biggest thing is making sure they don't get water in their ears, because it can cause damage, and with all dogs, keep them out of chemically treated water such as pools because it will dry out their skin and can cause problems in that regard as well.

My little corgi and I started out in small pools in creeks and streams then I introduced her to deeper waters.

@ikillpizza They can swim, but it tires them out really fast if they can't get to a place they can stand. I suggest getting them a little doggie life-vest.

@ikillpizza My two cents. they make floating vest for dogs and it's a little safer and they can play longer since the vest takes some of the work out of it

@airsoftandrew1 the camera is still working great. I love it since I'm around water a lot and don't need to worry about keeping it dry. It's even held up with a good bit of saltwater use... just rinse it out after :)

Lacylocket alot of dogs go in the water all by themselves. Get over yourself! My corgi flies in our pool whenever she feels like it. She loves it! If not a pool, then a pond or mud puddle that is available. It is good exercise for them. You just have to watch that they don't get exhusted. They are like children. They don't know when to stop!

They are only going in the water because you are throwing the ball in there. There little legs cannot hold that much weight. Next time you throw a ball in the water think twice before letting your Corgi go in there please.

@Lacylocket If a dog doesn't like water, it won't go in, even before a ball. Don't be stupid. Dogs are not stupid enough to go after something if they feel danger or uncomfortable. And if they do, well then your dog is stupid and putting its life in danger for a ball lol. Plus in water gravity almost doesn't exist, so their "little legs" are enough for them (:
