  • Classic!! Love this song!:)

  • Great song! I know Jay got that beautiful tenor voice from his daddy Johnny Parrack. It is just good 'ole Southern Gospel Music. Love it!!!

  • I was saved by God's Amazing Grace on March 5, 2006. I never will forget Brother Roy's message: "Carrying around old sin".

  • Wow. what a solid tenor. enough said. no arguing . Best in the buisness.

  • love this song..amazing.. and is a song i recently discovered and am practicein to sing as one of my specials at my church! great song...!

  • Jay is awesome love his voice.

  • Jay is awesome! He got his voice from one of the best, Johnny Parrack, who was the best of all tenors I have ever heard.

  • They sang this song at the Alabama National Fair a few years back and Jonathon was on fire. I'll never forget that they were rocking!

  • llove your songs now all the words and Im only 13

  • jay was pretty P.Oed when Jonathan got all up in his face... :)

  • @ChrisisBass13 Nah...... They acted like that even off stage. You should have seen them on the bus...... It was like high school teenagers. They are the best of friends. What's even funnier, seeing Jonathan with the rest of his family trying to eat Thanksgiving dinner!!!!!! Long story!

  • What's been up to Jay Parrack???

  • how do i here the songs

  • Is Jay singing now? If not, he should be. What a God-given talent.

  • Gold City, with this group, sing great! Jay Parrack is pretty cool. I saw Jay pick up that microphone holder in a playful spirit . Jonathan Wilburn would make a great old- time gospel preacher. I love to hear Mark Trammel and Jim Riley. They're all great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Gwen Weaver 2-7-2010

  • They are some characters I loved seeing them in person!!! I seen them more than 10 times!! I love them!!!

  • This video is great! It's so sad that Tim Riley's son, on the drums, was killed in an automobile accident, on the way to rehearsal. Tim Riley is a very gracious man. Jay sings tenor very, very, very well. I love to hear his Daddy, Johnny Parrack, who was with the Kingsmen back in the 70"s...may some in the 80's....Gwen Weaver

  • what video is this from?

  • This video is from there 20th anniversary DVD

  • <3 it , itll take a lot to compete with this

  • These guys can really jam! I love these guys

  • Absolute best lineup Gold City ever had. Highest tenor AND lowest bass in southern gospel. AWESOME!

  • I agree. Jays tenor is awesome. To me he's the best!

  • @Timinion20 i agree...best i ever heard..

  • Jay is the best tenor ive ever heard and ive heard them all live

  • I can't hear Gold City without one of these guys... They really rock

  • I disagree about Brian Free. He is probably one of the best tenors ever. So is this one. I think they are both about equal. Godl city had more hits with Brian Free and Ivan Parker than they have since. Just my opinion about the tenors. Fact about the hits though.

  • but Brian free and them sang 20 years ago. give this gold city lineup 20 years and they will be a lot more hits.

  • Well MrDosmon...sorry but that can't happen. The group has ALREADY changed members. First of all no modern quartet seems to keep a single lineup for twenty years. The fact that Brian free sang with them twenty years ago has nothing to do with my comment. My post remains accurate...they had more hits with Brian Free and ivan parker than they have had put together since. Since this video was posted they have changed members again. So i guess this lineup wont have anymore hits huh??

  • this is seriously one of my favorite songs from them!!! The original group was the best!

  • The thing I like about Jay Parrack (the tenor) is he sounds so much more natural than Brian Free (former tenor for this group).

BTW I am sooooo sick of all you 12 year olds who can't post a comment without using the F word. You should only post what you would say to someone face-to-face.

  • The reason Jay sounds more natural is because that is how jays whole family sings it is so natural for him his daddy was a kingsmen great!

  • That's what i thought

  • You're chopping your own head off here mate.

You haven't said anything reasonable, instead you flame.

  • I believe i have there smarty. Lyrics don't make a song, so don't down a music just because of the lyrics. And if you had a brain at all, you would realize that there are other musics with basses. So go look around and critisize somebody else's music.

  • I think pretty much everyone will agree with me if I say that lyrics are a very important part of a song.

And yes, there might be other music with basses, but not profound basses like Tim Riley, JD Sumner, PDK...

  • Well duh there genious. But lyrics arent everything in a song. So if you dont like the lyrics, focus on the music. Don't try to put down Christian lyrics

  • How come you always flame in your comments? It's annoying, please stop, you are giving christians a bad name.

Don't you think I've tried focusing on the music? It's the only way I can enjoy it.

  • I think that you are totally off. I am standing up for christian's from obnoxious people like you. You need to learn when to back off. Lyrics and music makes a song. But just because you don't like the lyrics doesn't mean you have to critisize it. And you have no clue what it means to give a bad name for a christian

  • woah woah! Lyrics and the music makes music!

  • Amen & Praise The LORD!

  • I dislike religious music. Music is too beautiful an art for being polluted with religion, which is ugly.

    UGH. LEE.

Tim Riley's low notes are good.

  • Then why'd you listen to it?

  • Uh, yeah, if you read my comment once more you'll see I wrote "Tim Riley's low notes are good."

Unfortunately, low bass notes are very scarce in popular music, so I must search here instead.

  • Well that's great. Gospel music is music. Any music is art. Are you saying that only a certain kind of music is art? because gospel music is just as much as music as anything other music

  • The only element in religious music I dislike are the religious lyrics, unless the song itself is shit.

  • Lyrics are a part of some music there smarty. I really dont think that there are certain requirments for lyrics. Get a clue

  • Does it matter what you think?

    Um, no.

If for me religious lyrics makes the song worse than it would be with non-religious lyrics, there is clearly something wrong with the lyrics, from where I stand.

  • Ok, so your saying the religious lyrics make a song worse when there are rap songs with hatred lyrics? Oh ya, that make a lot of sense from your part. And once again, get a clue

  • Rap sucks whether the lyrics are hateful or not.

Yes it makes a lot of sense to dislike music if the lyrics put you off, idiot.

  • Lyrics dont make the song, if you had any common sense you'd know that!

  • Common sense? What are you on about?

Lyrics can't alone make a song, no, but a song without good lyrics is a lame song. It's a kind of symbiotic situation.

  • And what makes the lyrics good? A boneheaded decision such as yours, i dont think so

  • Enjoyed the song....repentance preaching...awesome! We need to be new creations! xxxxx

  • In a generation that has lost respect for the ministry and authority, it's refreshing to hear this song .

We KNOW you have to pass all things men say through the light of scripture, but for goodness sake respect the man of God like the Bible says.

  • He said, Ye must be born again!!!!!!

  • Amen, Hallelujah!!!!!

  • This is why they don't emphasize the message in contemporary Christian music. CCM is getting squishy while southern gospel is still as bold as it's always been. Thanks for posting this!

  • knock it off you guys,,, pshhhhh, Christian going at it about Christian music,,, goodness folks. just kidding guys. G d's richest blessing in Christ Jesus to all who pass this way

check out my friend tracy, and her family band, user/basicband

contemporary gospel blues. i think they present a unique sound in Christian contemporary music.

hey lovejoypeace7777, thanks for routing this my way. a great group of voices.

    Peace, in His love

  • InHISWord2 thank you for sharing this video with me! God Bless you!

  • I used to wonder why it seemed like nobody outside of SG tenors ever sing like that. Then I realized...they become heavy metal lead singers.

  • you funny!

  • I had the honor of being with Gold City the night that Jay Parrack was interviewed for the new tenor. Garry Jones was amazed.

  • Jay...like father like son...awesome!

  • Jay is THE BEST TENOR EVER!!!!!!!!
