On another note: I used to be good with automatic, then I read the strategy guide, switched from the Standard Kart M to the the Mach Bike, and got epic. The thing I love most about the Mach Bike is its TIGHT ASS drifting. It's so tight, you couldn't stick a feather in there.
I suck so bad with automatic, But, im so good with manual, when i use a bike with automatic, and doing a weelie, i wanna turn to the let abit anfd then i stop my weelie and i just drift, very very dumb xD
but its ok with cars/karts/Fish/squids/coach/dirt bike etc.
im still having trouble doing mirror cups, i get 1st in 50cc, 100cc, and 150cc, i get pretty far too, about 10 - 16 seconds away, but in mirror i always fall off the track and get Blue shelled, ALOT!!
do you have any tips one mirror mode? i only got 2 stars there. i want to get rosalina but its tough and im losing time before i cant play for a while
Ah...I tried using small characters like you said, but...it simply didn't work for me. I never got items to shield me when I needed it.
It's ok though; I've gotten fond of karts at least. Now I can just bump bikers that try to wheelie past me. Besides...my favorite character is Bowser Jr. anyway, since I enjoy playing mindgames or toying with other characters.
However, not to be picky, but in the description of race #2, you said you "felt sabotaged from front to beginning". Of course, front and beginning in this case are the same thing.
The 3-Star rank is achieved by getting a 3-star rank on all cups in Mario GP. The GOlden Wii Wheel is achieved by using the Wii Wheel a lot in online matches.
Use whatever drifting scheme is better for you. Try both.
Yeah, that's basicaly the best advice to have. Different people will have different schemes that work for them. Me, I naturalized myself with the Wii Wheel. If you absolutely MUST use the Wii Wheel, you'll need to keep practicing until you get the hang of it.
I've been screwed like that 4 races in a row once. Didn't go back on wi-fi for at least 2 days. No lie.
Also, I'm getting sick of GCN DK Mountain. I go there more than I do DS Peach Gardens now! Not a day in the past week and a half have I not gone to that mountain.
One more thing: I never come out on top at Thwomp Desert. I'm always somewhere near the bottom of the rankings. However, the music there is awesome!
I don't know, I have a hard time believing that players specifically target players with high ranks. I mean, it's Mario Kart, everyone gets beat to death with items. (Except the lucky ones)
My favorite vehicle is the Jetsetter. It's so fast, it can catch up to bikers using wheelies. I've mastered this vehicle, and it's the best vehicle to mess with bike users.
As for characters, I seem to use Rosalina a lot. I think it's because she's new to the series and stands out.
what happened to you on maple treeway happens to me all the time. i have a 2 star ranking and usually have the highest amount of points in the group, im constantly bumped into grass and off ledges, what i hate the most is that sence i am in first about 50% of the time, i am constanly pummeled with blue shells that always seem to come when im right in front of the finish.
It's true, when I first got 3 stars, I noticed I was getting attacked more. But it just meant that I had to start showing I deserved those 3 stars and my 9000+ ranking by BEING MORE AGGRESSIVE. By not always revealing items until I need them. By being proficient at the fastest and most dangerous racing lines possible, and learning when to take them and when not to, and even how to best block them off with bananas, FIBs and shells. In other words, being more of a jerk than the opponent.
I have no word to describe what occurred at Maple Treeway, I didn't even know it was possible to fall the way you did at 1:04, also what Linda was a total JERK move!
It may have been a jerk move, but you have to be ready for that type of thing whenever you are behind a player, especially one that has already played their hand, i.e. activated the item they have. Even though she had stopped in the narrow pathway, that could have been avoided simply by moving right of her, what she did was totally telegraphed.
Linda backing up with the mega shroom was a jerk move, but if you think about it, that's what the item is for, right? Just the other day I had pulled away from the pack with another racer on the final lap at N64 BC and used a mega mushroom to do the same thing to my opponent.
As for the DK Mountain shortcut, I've been playing this game for months and am still trying to land that consistently using either method.
And it's foolish on her part because you could grab some pretty good items back there while still being so close to the pack with another lap to go, but I never found the mega shroom to be that much help without flattening anyone in the process.
I don't think there are any control schemes that 'don't work', it's more what feels best for you.
I use the control stick because I played Double Dash a lot when it was out, my sister, however, has become very good with the wheel. It's mainly personal preference.

Maybe the people with control stick (gamecube controller) schemes are attacking you for using the wii wheel because they think that the old schemes are the best i.e. Mario kart 64 and GC. Maybe their ganging up on you in the name of nostalgia? I don't know. Just throwing things out there.
I've done it before. It's really not that much of a jump if you go over the innermost part. Since you were far enough away from the pit, you had enough room to accelerate, or even aim and standing mini-turbo boost across, which is still faster than taking the whole turn around.
It sucks that you get targeted, or it could be horrible luck: to be behind a player who wants to run someone over, in front of a player with a lightning cloud, and shrunk on a narrow path without any walls at one time.

Try using Automatic, if you haven't already. The grading is more lenient there.

The difference is that you pulled away from everyone else. I assume you were in 1st place, so you didn't have to sacrifice anything.
Player was in 3rd and was poised to take the lead but chose to bash other people instead. It boggles the mind.

I see Daisy Mach Bikers and Daisy Dolphin Dashers increasingly often though. Perhaps you can step t up further by using a lightweight.
