Guys the hard drive in the old thick xbox and the one in the new one is the same size, it just has different casing. You can remove the hard drive itself from the old kind and put it in the slim it would still work. You can even buy a slim hard drive box for it so it fits perfectly

k someone help! After you do this process ive heard you can only use all your old content if you are on xlive, if your not online what kinds of things can't you use? Apparently there are some things you won't be able to do or use anymore? @12canadianboy12 i've just recently learned about the licsence tranfer thingy.k from my old xbox i've downloaded games.then on my new one i downloaded my profile and my games ive downloaded on my old one.and yes they wont work unless you are connected to xbox live.but if you do a liscence tranfer ..then all the games and content you've downloaded before will work even if you are not connected to xbox live. you see where im getting at here :P

I said this in the video as well. The fact was that, I wasn't trying to make an official, or really to the point guide on transferring your data, just a quick "how to" video. Okay, so i just got the old xbox 360 60gb, and had my 30gb hard drive from before.

I bought a transfer cable, watched a few video's and thought i could do it.

I attached the new 60gb to the usb, and the 20gb to my xbox.

It come up with a message that the 60gb wasnt formatted for xbox, so it gave me the option to format which i did.

It transfered, i took off my 20gb, and replaced it with my 60gb.

Loaded up my xbox, and BOOM... nothing there.

HELP.
