  • sigh. It was just as simplistic in the 70's, but now the quality of eurovision is down.

  • jajajajaja, muy buena. pero me gusta mas CAN jajajajaja

  • I actually dig this, as they're doing it live. And they're nailing it. I do hear a possible backing track with more voices.

But, whatever, I like it, like most of their hits. But I'm not an aficionado, like some here. Glad to see that exists.

  • Such a shame, they had so much success in the 70s but got this all wrong. Horrible song & performance. Jurgen Drews, bless him, acts like an idiot here. Outside of Eurovision they were all great.

  • @dmce1 You are right, but it was not entirely their fault. The copetition rules forced them to do this on only six persons instead of their usual 20+. So they just can't do the massive act that was their selling point. Sad, because this failure is pretty much what killed the group, AFAIK. The song isn't one of their better ones, but who knows what they would have done with it on full setting?

  • they had a lot more than a few hits before this.

this is not one of them

  • I really wished they never had done that , because it was the beginning of the End of the Les Humphrie singers . This Song was not from Humphries , it was written by Ralf Siegel !

  • Wow, they can really sing! But holy hell is that a terrible song!

  • Just think, one year later and the guy in blue, John Lawton, is singing for Uriah Heep :) !!

  • they should have been BANNED!!!! this is an offense to music

(lach)

  • was hat das damit zu tun?

  • Simply bad!!!

  • Yep, def one of their worst. And then takin this to the Song Contest...

  • I like so much this group, but this song is one of their worst. Mexico and Kansas city are much better.

  • Is same John Lawton of Uriah Heep?

  • Yes.Indeed.

  • ....and LUCIFER'S FRIEND & ASTERIX.....He Joined The Singers thru the side project of Les Humphries called MEGATON...a lot heavier than this stuff....how John Stomached this while in rock bands...lol!

  • @frankisstainer yes it is.

  • the german village people ^^

  • Similar but not quite. The Les Humphries singers are based upon the "Jesus Christ Supertsar" musical with some old school gospewl music influences. The Vilage People came much later and represenrted the "men only" gay disco movement of the late 1970s/early 80s. Each character of the Village people was carefully created after a (then) American gay stereotype.

The Les Humpries singers were of mixed gender and represented what was left of the summer of 68....

  • GREAAAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't believe to find it again!!! I was just a child, and none has heard it apart me, here!!!!!

Thanks for putting it on youtube!!!!

  • Can't believe John Lawton would go from Lucifer's Friend to a incredibly pop tart sugary coated band(I guess he needed the money lol) This video is a downer to show how low one needs to go for the money(he should've stuck with Lucifer's Friend through thick and thin)

  • I can upload a high quality english version of this..

  • He, Les H. is a tax dodger and I have seen him

in one Cafe in Duesseldorf, short before he

got away from "radar screen"! His eyes were

full of fear at that moment!

  • loooooooooool

  • ONE OF MY FAVOURITE BANDS

  • Wooow this guys really can get low , lower by the years compare to 1973 they was really crappy 1976

  • yeap, and the guy besides Lawton (left) has become a famous german singer, Jürgen Drews. He got famous with "just let your love flow" in the german version.

Today this guy gets on everyones nerves..LOL...bye

  • @DRSA5702 i love jürgen drews, great!!!!

  • They had so much better songs and I liked most of the others. But this one is not my thing, sorry.

  • Yes,i know,Place No.15 (from 18 Songs)! Should be last place!

  • What placement did they get that year?

    Does anyone know?

  • LOOL...look at Lawton go! haha.

  • Haha yeahhhhhhhhh he´s the lead singer from Uriah Heep! And the chorist from the left is from ABBA.

  • Ha ha ha! So bad! In the end they had a better place than the wonderful song from Yugoslavia - what cheek!

  • Alive and kicking! We love the Les Humphries Singers!! Sing along and dance, good times guaranteed!

  • I guess Ralph Siegel banged this tune out on his piano about 30 seconds after listening to "Ding-A-Dong". ;) The man in the blue suit is John Lawton, later lead singer in the famous hard rock band Uriah Heep!
