After being defeated in the election he mostly just surfed the country clubs. It can never be said that he didn't loyally serve his paymasters well.

I wish-I've been looking all over-especially on dvd. Have complete Kennedy-Nixon, Carter-Reagan BUT these debates with Ford-Carter seem tough to get for some reason.
I'll let you know if I get them and please do the same for me---thanks!

Not really. He was just a Vice who got stuck with the job for a couple years.

He was one of the best presidents ever. He did the right thing with the pardon, it was what was needed at the time. And he was a wonderful person.
