  • slow it down and give it some soul your aying to fast and muting a lot of the notes

  • mandolin sound or guitar. I wanna hear a bass guitar. still impressive anyway

  • Ugly !

  • sounds like crap...

  • damn that's pretty sweet

  • IMPRESSIVE

  • look dude. you have gotten this all wrong. the bass aint meant to be fast. its meant to be slow and groovy. even a metalhead knows that.

  • @Zhultaz That's like saying all guitars are meant to be fast and soulless.

  • @Zhultaz fuck you! come back when you knw stuff about music

  • GROOVE ZERO !

    can't hear the bass !

  • rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Great bass player, maybe got bass taught to him by Chuck Norris. Excellent

  • that's not amazing that's just speed show off, I personaly dont like this guys music

  • Wank

  • Aye, very good but can he cook a chicken?

  • 6 string basses are for solos only hahahaha

  • @janderson2000 Thank God, Janderson...the God of all music could provide this insight.

    We all are so blessed!

  • @Jefe1975 Listen up, jackass, and you may learn something. Probably not though...you are a hopeless and lowly Sarzo fan who wouldn't know talent if it slapped him in his mulleted head.

  • @janderson2000 Actually you little doofus....Sarzo is FAR from my favorite bassist. YOU are the one who is obsessed with the guy. I grew up listening to his music, and have listened to his music before you were born...so when you grow up....and calm the fuck down with your obsessive hate and gigantic chip on your shoulder....YOU might learn something.

  • @Jefe1975 His music? What, do you think he played on the albums he posed on? Or are you a giant Quiet Riot fan...a ban that is the epitome of dumb 80s bands? Sarzo did not play on the Ozzy albums...and he did not play on the whitesnake album. Seriously, you shouldn't think because you're old you know more. You clearly don't.

  • @janderson2000 I never said that, did I? No, I didn't. It is plainly clear he did not write for Ozzy, for Whitesnake, or Ynwgie, or on Metal Health...and for the record...I have never bought any Quiet Riot except for that album which was when I was 9 yrs old...and no...I am not a huge fan at all. I grew as a Rhoads fan,...and Rudy played in that band which, in turn,...made me a fan of Rudy's as well. I met the guy and worked with him.

  • @Jefe1975 hey, fine...he may be a nice guy...but he is one LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY dude. To call him a "legend" like so many tools who talk out of their ass do is to do a disservice to REAL legends.

  • @janderson2000 That is probably true....I never said he wasn't lucky. There is no reason to even try to figure out where he is as a legend. That word is overused almost as much as love. When I think of legend...and bassist... the first two people in my world of music are Geddy Lee and Cliff Burton

  • @Jefe1975 Geddy Lee, John Wetton, Andy West, Chris Squire, Jimmy Johnson, Jimmy Haslip, Victor Wooten, etc. are what I consider legends. Cliff Burton? Well, not in that league of course. My favorite thing about him was his band, tone, played metal with his fingers and that he played a Ric. The one player who I think really was in a league of his own was Jaco Pastorius.

  • @janderson2000 So, in the end, I will repeat myself; I never ranked him, I merely told you,...he doesn't suck. And in the end, the guys is a fantastic player regardless of his unfortunate lack of writing credits. But, all you do is come onto the videos site, and spew your anger for no reason, I mean, is there some kind of giant pissing contest in the world? Judging from your age, rage, and giant chip on your shoulder, you got issues. Sucks for you, but I'm sure your band is doing real well..lol

  • @Jefe197 You know nothing of me. It's actually very telling of people when they assume other people they talk to can't be talented because it is really just a projection of their own potential; they can't fathom other people actually having talent as it seems some distant dream for them. You need to read your comments again. YOU have anger issues. I am just a principled person. I say bluntly when the emperor has no clothes.Sarzo lucked his ass into the scene on Bob Daisley's back. THE END

  • @janderson2000 Isn't that something.

Once again, you have learned the world. Carry on.

  • @Jefe1975 I shall. I will continue to get the occasional clueless, emotional and woefully ignorant "rebuttals" to my comments as well, so I'll probably see you again. Of course, it's not all that likely we'll be watching the same vids. I understand music.

  • @janderson2000 That made me laugh...but in the end, you're the guy who went out of his way to search for a Rudy Sarzo video. You found it, didn't you? Lol....good luck with your band buddy.

  • @Jefe1975 yeah, it sounded conceited to you, huh? Well, that's fine. I just know it's the truth. I And no, I didn't search for a rudy sarzo video. On the right under "suggestions" there's lots of nonsense that I sometimes click onto. Sarzo is interesting to me though in that he's a complete musical fraud that non-musician types hold with high regard. It's interesting in a pathological way the same way Lady Gaga's success is interesting, yet musically repugnant.

  • Fantastic playing! It's a shame that people are only pleased with bassists playin steady eights.

  • it sounds like shit being thrown at 100 MPH

  • I hear a lot of Wooten influence, but if Wooten were dead he'd be rolling in his grave. Slow it down, find a nice pocket, and groove in it. Let the notes actually ring a bit. It'd sound twice as impressive at half the speed.

  • this is terribly fast...or maybe just terrible?

  • @ant1e OR maybe your ears aren't trained enough to make out what he's doing. He's playing rhythm and lead at the same time. Soloing over his own rhythms on the same bass. Take another listen.

  • @bratboy122101 Music, like every art form is subjective. One mans Jackson pollock is another mans colourful sick on a canvas. And I can assure you my ears are very "trained" what with being a touring session bassist for nearly 15 years. ;)

  • @ant1e Then why the comment saying terribly fast or just terrible? I mean you're a touring bassist after all. Do you not think this is hard to do? Whether you like the sound of it or not it's not like every other bassist can do this.

  • bull shit.....

  • this is a fucking b..shit

  • This isn't musical... It's athletic....

  • ...and yet the bassist is always the guy in bands that get no credit.

  • toca bien , pero no tiene sentido ... no solo es rapidez sino sentir la musica... -5pts

  • You should check out the Chiselhead Bass!

  • This takes a lot of technical skill, yes. Now play something that sounds good that takes half as much skill. Because you should easily be able to.

  • he would "play" randomly, it could sound same, no ?

  • its mixed music but very incredible

  • This is 'Charlie Parker' of the Bass. Fast coherent and with multiple lines played together.

  • Must take shitloads of practice and talent to do that. Excellent!!

  • we love GUSTAVO DAL FARRA :) !

    wath him to learn sth

  • Ive commented multiple times on this video now after seeing many comments saying something to the extent of "fast but not good". This guy is playing rhythm and lead at the same time. That is so incredibly hard it blows my mind that anyone would say anything negative about it. Does no one hear all the individual notes? Cant anyones minds comprehend what hes playing without hearing it as 1 big blur of sound? Hes not even playing fast. 2 things at once require more movement.

  • @bratboy122101 I'm not a musician and I could figure that he was playing both rhythm and lead at the same time. makes you think what kind of trolls are those that said this was crap or that it was not music, etc. etc.

  • Impressive skill. Now he just needs to write an actual song.

  • hahaha take the ear PLUGS off and listen to what you are playing!

  • @MrBguylegos1 What you mean rhythm and lead at the same time? Because thats what hes doing. Hes playing rhythm and lead at the same time on the same guitar.

  • 99% of you people cant play a six string bass as skillful as this guy. Instead of commenting stupid comments that no one really cares about how about you people just click on a video that you like and type in something good.

    Haters

  • Fast, but it doesn't sound good.

  • cool man... but u have to clear the sound more!

    but great playing!

  • Not amazing, just good.

  • This is great! I love the sound and the guys level of discipline and skill!

  • Metronumb.

  • I must have missed the "amazing" part.

  • Real bass have 4/5 strings... this is shit for me...

  • amazing? amazing bad!

  • music is different from speed

  • You have to listen to Gustavo Dal Farra... He is AMAZING!!

  • @ysma2256 yeah man that guy is a GOD!!

  • You GO BOY, I LOVE IT, very difficult to play. it appears as if the haters never traveled, lol, wow, ignorance is no excuse to criticize what you don't know, wow, Stop collecting welfare checks, get a job, then travel, then you will know to appreciate difference, and you will also display knowledge of music; you just exposed yourself dummies, immean HATERS!

  • It seems a lot of you have either never listened to cuban music or just don't like it or understand it. THis guy is playing the piano parts and bass parts simultaneously, OK it's not executed with perfection or great clarity, but it is a pretty damn good attempt and idea anyway. I respect this man's playing and his knowledge of cuban rhythm and harmony. I would imagine he knows his shit.

His timing is actually pretty solid toward the middle, but you'd have to know where the ONE is to know that.

  • fail

  • sorry does not sound like anything sir

  • This is not BASS playing...;^)

  • its a weird Acid trip.. but i see a pattern nevertheless.. Keep doing more crazy shit :D

  • He's fast for sure. But the bass is supposed to keep the beat and rhythm not shred. If he wants to shred then he should play guitar. A good bass line will keep a band together and not screw eachother over. But then there are bass players like geddy lee of Rush who keep the beat and completely shred the bass... while playing the organ with their feet. Honestly I think that this guy should focus less on shredding and more on keeping the beat.

  • @trappedbymusic Okay I get this all the time, being a bassist. Go fuck yourself. We're bassists, we have every right to be more badass than guitarists. Keeping the beat. Really. You know, I can't even form words here, that statement pisses me off so much. You sound like we're supposed to be talentless. So I say again, go fuck yourself.

  • @dobbythe9th I really hope that you realize that I'm a bass player myself. And yes bass players are amazing. I'm just saying that as a bass player you're in the rhythm section and being in the rhythm section you are supposed to keep the band on beat. You can't do that if you're just shredding the bass. And example of an amazing bass player is Geddy Lee from Rush. Not only can he play faster then the guy above but he can do that while keeping on beat, singing, and playing the foot organ.

  • That is a bad boy! WOW

  • Now if you can duplicate that exactly a second time, then I'll call you amazing.

  • yeah, probably talented in playing a looot of notes per minute...

  • the first part sounded cool but then it turned into shit :/

  • Awful

  • Awful"

  • okay that guy is worse than i am at slap. and i SUCK!!! seriously, rename this video, maybe with the title,,,,plays with dick? cuz a dilldo can get better sound and coordination that this fuck head...

  • if someone played that on my work place, I would say ''can someone turn that f***ing noice of!?!! plase :(

  • i hope he can play again with slower tempo

  • hmmm... Speed... and?!?!

  • agreed with alot of the others it sounds like crap hes just playin a shit ton of crap

  • Horrible

  • if you have played this more slow this were a very good session

  • yh he can move his fingers fast but theres no music there, not saying he aint good he just aint an amazing bass guitar player !!!!

  • you suck

  • I play bass, Im the sort of 2 string, 3 or 4 notes, occionally go up an octave type player, playing the odd bum note as I go and I will never be able to do this. This guy is technically proficient fo sho, just not sure I want to be able to play like that. I like music to have soul, and a bass line to groove, and I just ain't feelin it here. nuff respect tho ;)

  • this basically what victor wooten sounds like to me. except victor wooten actually has a melody. but they both play too fucking fast imo.

  • It would be good if you were'nt going that fast

  • Sounds like all the Seinfeldsongs in a row and very very fast!

  • well hes fast......thats it

  • 721 people suck :) he is amazing

  • nothing amazing here!!!! :(

  • i dont think hes doing it right

  • yay....a bassist never should be random!

  • EPIC!!!!

  • horrible .

  • genius!

  • i really like what he is trying to do

  • @elie01 Key Word- Trying

  • GILLES DE LA TOURETTE BASS PLAYING ... BUT STIL... EXCELLENT TECHNIQUE

  • psyopus does it better

  • wow everyone was thinking what i was thinking: sounds fast, but i dont like it

  • drochevo

  • hmm. okay he´s fast for sure. but i dont like it to be honest

  • uhhhhh? ehhhh? Ummmm? strange music.

  • what groove!

  • the ones that disliked this arnt real bass players cause they would know how hard it is to play a 6 string bass massive props

  • six strings=guitar

  • @kilochucamonga No there are Bass-Guitares with 5- and 6-Chords ;-)

  • @kilochucamonga Six strings = six string bass. He's playing lead bass quite quickly for any bassist and still holding a simple rhthym at the same time. This is amazing.

  • @shadowuvintent Its like only 1 out of every 20 people actually understand what hes playing (lead AND rhythm) while the others just think its noise. So thank you.

  • Why don't you just pick up a guitar and start shreddin'? That shit has got nothin' to do with bass playing man

  • Perfect technique anyways.

  • oh i get it. i get it. if you play the video backwards.............no, still jumbled craziness

  • Amazes me how many bad comments there are. Guy playing rhythm and lead at the same time on the same base and mostly everyone flames it? Are everyones brains just not comprehending what hes playing?

  • @bratboy122101 thank you finaly

  • this makes me want to go stand facing a wall for like forty minutes,,,,

  • Could it be that some certain sounds have a lactose intolerant effect on me...?

  • nice! pls check my video

  • looks like a drunk tony levin..which isnt that bad after all

  • wtf did i just watch.

  • Wheres the structure?

  • that's horrible, sorry man

  • inascoltabile...

  • @MrOrangeBlues concordo..anche se all'inizio suoanva strana mente "crimson" ..non so se ho reso l'idea..

  • If this were slowed down, just a little bit, it might make a little more sense. Other than that, this is just wanking...

  • I believe in creation, its no matter whether u hav rhythm or vib... rebo

  • :O

  • There's absolutely no vibe to this song.

  • has anyone of u guys that comment negative ever played guitar or bass ?

  • @NikiLoudah Yes, and whenever I like to play, it usually sounds better than this!

  • @KillerFridge I am playing guitar the last 5 months and i am trying everyday for more then 5 hours and TBH i have to say that i changed my mind and i agree with u cuz i show a little better hes fingers and show that it was the same 3 timing-placing patern that also doesnt have the right spaces betwenn them(rythm).

  • since when a bass have 6 snares abd not 4 ike regual?

  • @vuurdude dude there has always been multiple string basses. There's 4, 5, 6, 7 string basses. Hell there's even an 11 string bass

  • theres A LOT of diference between noise and music

  • he has great techinque but no rhythm or style

  • I have to admit he's got fast hands but that's all, it sounds awful

  • sounds like shit

  • @Captain94kirk of course,he played a yamaha bass!!!

  • i couldnt do that (ok im a guitar player anyways). but this is formless and absolutely not in time....

  • WHAT THE.....

  • pfff...u allways see guys like this, showing of...great technic but other then this these guys can't play shit..believe me.

  • very nice...needs some work but for sure has got the making of a great musian. I would say to check out and study some of Victor Wootens instrutional dvd's i.g. ~groove workshop~

  • is that fucking doug johns?

  • its ok idk looks hard

  • It's called "noodling".. Musicians get yelled at by people within earshot for doing this.

  • Plays rhythm and lead at the same time.....hats off.

  • Its nice as a piece of technique showing off skill.

But as a song its pretty shit

  • At the end of the day, it is still bass....

  • Im pretty sure he plays during cutscenes from seinfeld haha

  • how...bad...do u suck?

  • I can tell this guy listens to Adam Nitti! great!

  • that sounds like crap!!!!!!

you have the speed and the ritem, ou have to learn something that really sounds like something.

  • @eppo43 i bet u dont even play the bass guitar so u can just shut the hell up and view another video

  • @mrragu19705 No, he's right. This is impressive showmanship, no doubt, but you don't get anywhere as a bass player being able to do this. People are more interested in your being able to glue a song together.

  • @mrragu19705 i don't know if you have a brain, but i play guitar a long time, al kinds of guitar. in the beginning it sounds like crap. after 30 seconds there comes a little ritem. but it must be lot more. so you can better shut the fuck up

  • your a joker ... u gonna regret spending ur time learning to play like that when u realise u cant make music

  • if he was to play this in a local club, say an open mic night... the place would empty !! lol

  • doing a lot does not mean that it is good music. great technical,

I like how he played starting at 1:29

  • This would sound sooooo much better if every now and then he would just let a note or two ring. This way it all sounds choppy and techno-ish, like someone chopped up a jazz record into tiny pieces, rearranged them, glued them back together, and put them on a player.

  • ahhh D; what is this? wheres your groove man? this is all technique. no one cares about all this crap if you dont have a unique twist on your playing

  • theres no groove AT ALL..
