  • Rick, I bought the nipples off ebay and made three seperate watering systems. They worked well for the first couple of days we were on vacation but upon our return I found three epic failures. Several of the chrome tips are missing now. Reckon where I went wrong? I used the weights that were included.

  • @thegeneral343 Did the whole nipple fall out or did just the crome part fall off? I have not had a problem with mine ever....

  • what size pipe is that 3/4 can it work w/ 1/2

  • @allamericanTRAPPER no...the size I used is 3/8" ...its the smallest size cpvc.

  • @london1817 so it can work w/ 1/2

  • @allamericanTRAPPER oh for sure.

  • hi Rick. where did you order the nipples from?

  • @kievdnipro Hi !! I just found them on Ebay....they are pretty cheap and work great!

  • Did the chickens naturally try to drink from the nipple, or did you have to teach them somehow?

  • @stetson333 Well yes...I had to show them where it was and all it takes is one to find it then the rest will figure it out.....maybe......I have some chickens that will never figure it out... I think...My White crested black polish

can't see very good and I have to feed them the old way with the waterers. lol. thanks....Rick.

  • @london1817 If you clip the head feathers around his eyes he will be able to see fine. If you pluck those feathers they will immediately start growing back though.

  • @wesley1999442 its a poultry nipple off EBAY.

  • good job!

  • @Skyk0rn Thank you!

  • Rick, you are a man after my own heart. I find that you are posting videos that either answer my questions or they are of similar projects that I'm in the middle of. Thanks Rick, keep up the good work.

  • @thegeneral343 Thanks for saying that! I have always tried to make trial & error videos...mostly just learning as I go really..........Thanks for the comment!

  • I wish you were my neighbour. lol We just started our backyard coop with 6 chicks. I have so many questions all the freakin' time!

  • wow that was the bantoms my dad used to raise i always wondered what they were called Thanks... Are they a old breed?

  • @JRSKICK1 Yeah...they have been around forever.....I got to be careful opening the coop because they can fly.

  • Nice idea. What breed of chickens are they?

  • @ceadeses They are Silver duckwings. They lay good eggs for their size. sweetest birds ever!

  • Do they figure out that they can get water from the nipple right away?

  • @HotSauceJohnny I was wondering the same thing. Do you have to train them to use the nipple?

  • Hey Rick, do yo like BAKED chicken? You know, the kind that's cooked at a HIGH heat? LOL! Great vid.
