ok, some would tell they are romanians, others they are romanian gipsies. The truth is somewhere between: it's not the popular romanian music and not 100% of gipsies. it's the kind of music sang in bars arround 1900 in Romania, in instrumental bands, and dedicated to regular people from city, not the rich people (they only listened clasical music at that time) but the less rich and educated ones. However it sounds great.

@blueblue777 They are gipsy... they are called LAUTARI, they play authentic gipsy songs. Sounds like Bregovic, cause he plays balcanian gipsy music also. Gipsy are split in many category lautari (the one who sings), caldarari (the one that makes pots) cutitari (who makes knifes - cutit means knife), bobiceni (who makes and sels carpets and rugs) and much more...

My "ethnic" or "national" roots are so very mixed from that area, I can not even say that I am Romanian, Turk, Greek, Bulgar, Magyar,...however I have learned to live and be happy...listening to "what I like"..be it Gypsy, Rom, Serb, Yugo, or whatever...you all should try such an attitude...
