ich war dieses Jahr von Anfang Februar bis Ende Februar in Japan und bin immer noch total traurig wieder zurück in Deutschland zu sein, danke für dieses Trostpflaster!!!
@chorltonlad Haha.... thats funny, perhaps you should have changed the ringtone during your visit! ^_-
However, every station doesnt have this melody, but not all stations have their own unique melody,
so some of the melodies are re-used. Some of the yamanote-melodies are even re-used on other lines such as sobu and chuo line. (the yellow and orange lines!
I'm being admittedly rather nerdy, but you need to take the Ebisu and Akihabara keychains back for a refund - all Ebisu melodies are Ebisu beer commercial jingles (the melody programmed in the keychain is standard for much of the Chuo line rapid heading out west), and why the Akihabara chain has been given the generic 'unimportant Yamanote station' melody is beyond all comprehension. Get a refund :)
@metallicism >>> Haha... :-) I understand why you say it, but im sorry - you are wrong. If you look at the soundpods, the direction of the green arrow indicates, if its the song for going clockwise or anticlockwise. (as the songs are different, depending on the direction.)
@thomasgotschalk ... having lived and breathed akihabara and ebisu stations for a very long time, i can say with confidence that you are in fact wrong, without the need to say sorry. you are right about departure melodies being different, it doesn't mean you're right about what they are though. watch?v=-GvIUlVRnmY and watch?v=SIzavDRDGpg are akihabara's current melodies. jr ebisu station on the other hand only has ebisu beer jingles on all platforms, be that saikyo, yamanote, rinkai, whatever.
@nzSkitzo: Im afraid I dont recall seeing any for Tokyo Metro. So far i've seen all for Yamanote, and a some for Chuo-, Keihin Tohoku-, and Yokohama-line.
Man I would love to get some of these keychains. Tokyo, Akihabara and Shibuya are my favorites. But unfortunately I can't read Japanese so unless I can find a site where it has english I won't be able to buy them. :(
Maybe you would be able to find them on Ebay or someplace like that - other than that, i only know shops in Tokyo thats sells them.... (If i hear of someplace that sells them i will let you know!)
I think only 18 of the 29 yamanote-line stations are available - but i think its because some of the stations uses the same melodies, and others are...erm... "less interesting" ;-)
i lovvvvve it!
