I've lived in TJ my entire life and I've never had any trouble with insecurity. I knew some Asians that went on a trip to Mexico and was approached by a couple Mexican strangers pretending to be security, told the Asian guys they were to pay a parking violation. But they had a sense the securities are frauds and punched the hell out of one and drove off.

I went to clubbin in TJ when I was 21 yrs old. I put my money and ID in my pocket I had nothing else on me that would bring any attention to me but a dirty cop stopped me before crossing the street he began poking my chest asking me where am I from I dont speak spanish so I acted like I didnt hear him. I didnt speak or even look at him I just kept quiet and that made him angery. My cousin got very scared and told him a name of a cop and he let me go. I dont do drugs and I didnt do anything wrong

I had many near-misses while traveling to Tijuana for the night clubs. Once over a decade ago at a very young age, I went there with a group of friends not realizing the risk. To make the story short, we went bar hopping and about two hours into the night I noticed a strange man was following us into every nightclub and would be there before us. My guess he was waiting for us to get incoherently drunk and seperated from the group to do something.

I have walked alone from San Ysidro to Tijuana a few times. I was cautious since I have heard alot of stories on crime, murders, etc.
It was always nice to get back into the USA -- felt safer I would never go alone into Tijuana at night time. Too risky.

unfortunately no! i used to live by the border in san diego and i know that it is extremely dangerous. i am now in the military and am in iraq and i can honestly tell you, i believe certain areas in mexico are worse or more dangerous than out here. i know times are tough financially in the civilian world but i do believe it is better to find a different solution than tijuana, mex. at least for now. good luck!!

its been known that things in Tijuana weren't alright ever since they found out that some cops where working for the carteles, but yet kids and young adults keep going to clubs hm...this really sucks for the tourist areas bc they are losing so much money, but they have to realize that this problem is much bigger and a responsibility of all. I know many Mexicans keep their mouth shut because they don't want to risk their lives if they talk...if only we had honest cops and ppl in power. Shit!

I had many near-misses while traveling to Tijuana for the night clubs. Once over a decade ago at a very young age, I went there with a group of friends not realizing the risk. To make the story short, we went bar hopping and about two hours into the night I noticed a strange man was following us into every nightclub and would be there before us. My guess he was waiting for us to get incoherently drunk and seperated from the group to do something.
