The Zombies, on a per minute basis, were the best band ever. Two whole LPs and that was it, and the 2nd was released after they broke up. I had a CD on which Colin talked about how he MADE his first guitar - and within ONE YEAR they put out their first album.
The Zombies were the closest early rock got to jazz. Those three songs, Tell Her No, She's Not There and Time of the Season are so sexy! They really pass through the mystique of love - of sensual romantic love. We lament the way it used to be and all. Few realize psychedelic music didn't die a natural death - ti was assassinated by disco - on purpose! The conservative think tanks saw Hippies weren't going to be consumers. It's in the book; "Dark Victory"
speaking from the standpoint of a young american who played in a band in these years, we dugg the Zombies, Yardbirds, and Animals much more that the others. They may not have found the path, but they cut down the trees so the others could find their way.
@Jupiter2able anyone who knows anything about 60s music would bring up the zombies pretty quickly, i'd think. a bit of an underground gem but definitely not lost.
The Real Love of the 60,s and early 70,s will Not Come back again Unless theres a Natural Catastrophy!! thats the only way People will come Closer when they know that their Lifes are On The LINE!!..Why Must it Always Be This Way??!!??//:(
there was a music video done in the late 80's I think. for "She's Not There" with Teri Garr, I have been looking everywhere for it, do you know what I am speaking about?
The coolest name for a group ever. The Zombies were really under rated,in my opinion. You never here people mentioning them when they discuss the great music of the 1960s. Such a shame.
I can not stop loving this song. If you even want to talk to me, and why would ya? you must know this and love this song. One of the few songs I could listen to a million times or more. I have no interest in Zombie movies so it's always fresh and not bloody. Sometimes I get up in the middle of the night and go out in a daze looking for someone who is playing this song and then I know me and her will be as one even if she's not all there. Just don't hurt me know for her love belongs to me.
About four years ago, The Zombies (Rod and Colin), performed at a small club about 10 min. from where I live. I couldn't go that day and I was disappointed to hear that not many people showed :( This song had so many memories for me...love the NOTLD clips, lol!
Zombies were real good. Songs stood the test of time too.

@Freespeech1776 No doubt about it! You won't ever hear music like this again.
Thanks, Joe

Good one, Joe. Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone both went on to have distinguished chart careers after The Zombies - at least, here in the UK.
