I graduated from university with a Geography degree about 6 months ago. It still interests me a lot and feel it is a very important and influential subject, but obtaining employment with a Geography Degree is actually a challenge, as most positions are at a higher level than you can join after you have graduated.
There seems to be a very limited number of positions which you can get straight from university into work, and sometimes the broadness of the subject is a disadvantage.
i am thinking about getting a hydrogeology degree, but the school i might get into onyl has geography majors. any body have a B.S. major in Geography: Water Studies?
Hey RGS IBG, curious as to why you don't have Geography Teacher as part of your montage of exciting and varied careers that geography can lead to. We're the ones pushing your agenda on geography; a little recognition wouldn't have gone a miss.
There are hunderds of exciting careers wth geography - we could only fit in about 25! We have tried to profile some of the less well known ones to show that geography is a relevant choice for career and progression. A shared agenda I hope!
this was fantastic, made me see how many careers there are related to gepgraphy, wow. & that last girl is a huge inspiration, I'd love to go travel for a few years and gain experience.
