my first worry is the complete utter nobhead who is doing the review, how many of these controllers is he after, he dont know anything hes on about and he needs a barber big time, as for the eks looks like it dont work for me
I can't believe I got to this video directly from the Eks site! It's a review telling me about things are that are wrong with the product I was looking to buy... and it's the first thing you see on the video page. FAIL!
companies that are willing to admit the shortcomings of their products are the only ones you can trust. And they are the only ones actually working to get it right.
yeah!!!......kinda remember me when i first started haha.....but gear wasn't mine hehe......right now i have a pair of cdj 200's....so is no big diference hahaha
Dino probably is stuck with his gear....meaning it's still good for his time. Hey if it rocks the party flawlessly everytime, the equipment doesn't matter! Glad to see Dino got to use the Otus live though haha.
UM yeah looks tasty, but what about LATENCY? The one thing that has driven me crazy with all of these dj digital controllers is the lag from when i want something to happen vs when it actually occurs. Ever get lag when playing Halo or Gow? Yeah now take that and have it happen when you try to Q your tracks - interesting how companies conveniently leave out the Latency information...
No replacement for the cdj1000s... I don't fancy risking taking in my laptop and 4kgs of midi controller gear, not to mention all the cables you'd have to mess around with. Might aswell take a bag of records in. Or a CD wallet. Certainly a lot lighter!
Hey guys great video. I love my Otus for anyone that is thinking about it trust me you wont regret it. I use VDJ and i partner my Otus with the Numark Total Control (i will be swapping it with 'Stealth' as soon as its natively supported). If you are interested in purchasing an EKS Otus let me know as i am a reseller.
It's a fine piece of hardware. Bought it couple weeks ago. No regrets. Worth every penny. And if you try to think of another controller that comes even close, good luck. (there are none in this class, ie. size and the wheel).
I've been using Otus for a month now with Traktor3 and have been really happy. Getting used to one deck didn't take long actually. I've mapped the fine tuning of pitch to corner wheel, which makes it very accurate

eks is releasing a new version called the otus raw with physical pitch slider and everything that was wrong with the otus.

this thing looks good but bet its bank
the video output most be good for something
sainifabulous 2 years ago
It's not a video output, it's a digital S/PDIF audio output per channel for connecting with digital Mixers, such as Pioneer's SVM-1000, or DJM-1000.

It's not video output, it's a SPDIF output for digital audio.
