  • don't EVER tell me what I can't do!!!

  • John, you fell 8 stories out of a window and lived, I don't want to hear what you can't do.

  • What a beautiful show.

  • First season was the best

  • @tottiw91 think I'm going to agree with that.

  • I wish you had believed me.

  • I've looked into the eye of this island, and what I saw was beautiful.

  • This is destiny! This is DESTINY!! I'm suppose to do this DAMNIT!!

  • Is Michael Giacchino's middle name Michael?

  • Don't tell me what I can't do EVER!!!

  • I want to drown myself in this music. It's so beautiful.... so, so beautiful.

    -[lights-a-candle-and-sobs]-

  • @acrumble31 now I'm thinking about Charlie! Sadness...

  • this is amazing

  • Dont Tell me What I Cant Do!

  • I think the reason this piece stirs such mixed feelings is because the first time we hear it we witness Locke's rising from the ashes of the crash in a hopeful way, suddenly able to walk and moving on from the grief of his former life and yet, the second time we hear it is when his father betrays, uses and abandons him just as Locke is banging on the hatch door, feeling equally betrayed and used by his faith and belief in the island, ultimately resulting in Boone's tragic sacrifice.

  • Still gives me chills everytime I listen to it, especially when the low piano notes start hitting. Just great.

  • i dont know what it is about this piece, but it makes me choke up inside. i think this piece speaks to everyone in a different way..

  • this is brilliant tv series I saw

  • OMG I LUV THIS MUSIC IT IS ONE OF MY FAVES FROM LOST! <3

  • Roses are red,

    Violets are blue,

    4 8 15 16 23 42

  • @SiiKSkollz nice one

  • "Who are we to decide what people can or cant do?"

  • We wrote lyrics to this song:

    "Don't tell jack

    there's a secret hatch,

    we should get a match

    and blow the lid off..."

  • I have a final test coming up in 8 days and if I pass this music is going to play in the back ground.

  • @RUdigitized Dont you mean if you fail? This composition was playing when Boone died and John was crying xP so playign it when you pass is sort of...ironic?

  • @artan234 this is the tune that plays when he gets healed though right?

  • @artan234 I normally wouldn't say anything, but it really annoys me when people use "irony" wrong. The word you're looking for is "contradictory"

  • @artan234 you do kind of have a point, but remember this song is also HOPEFUL. just pay close attention specifically at 1:25-2:37. if seeing a crippled man rise up from the ground isnt hopeful, then I don't know what is =)

  • He was right from the beginning.

  • John Locke.. favorite character of every show ive watched.

"You'll never be John Locke. The John Locke I knew was a great man."

  • I've done everything you wanted me to do, so why did you do this to me?

  • Classic, emotional, and powerful scene from the epic first season of one the best shows EVER created.

  • Amazing.. yet sad. :(

  • @RazzleDazzle2340 Part of the reason many people watched and still watch lost is for the mystery.ou aren't supposed to know everything about everyone, You just have to put some of the pieces together yourself.

  • 1:21

This is the best part of the song for me...

  • 2.07 epic part begins !

  • I came into the series after it ended. Of corse I'd heard of its historical signifigance to TV and how "ground breaking" it was so I decided to give it a shot on my Netflix run. Its hard to even put it into words how glad I am I made that decision. I fell so hard for everything about it, The characters, the story, the symbolism, and of corse the music. Im almost to season 6 and I gotta say: BEST SUMMER I'VE EVER SPENT. (must've been torture to wait each week for new eps)

  • @Moonburst12 You sound like me... I watched the whole series in a month this summer and I'm so sad that it's over. I watched the last episode exactly a month ago tomorrow.

  • @Mickolas08 Hah Imma bout half way to the end. I had to stop watching for a bit to take care of a few school summer projects and focus on re-reading and re-watching all the Harry Potter Books and Movies to prepare for the last one. That series ripped my heart out when it ended too, but I will cherish my time with it as well.

  • This song makes me so sad.

  • Didn't like the show that much, the lack of explaining everything was annoying. So many things just ignored, until 30 episodes later. Hate shows that do that, simply do it to keep you watching. Suspense is one thing, but simply ignoring twist is ridiculous. However, I will agree the scenes with this score are simply amazing and oscar worthy.

  • @RazzleDazzle2340 Then you, my friend, have no interest in the journey.

  • @danielcontoro Sure don't

  • Dude, I'm bawling right now. I started watching Lost in 4th grades.... honestly, I grew up to this music. <3

  • Brilliant.

  • Locke was so alone for the longest time because he was the only one that truly believed. He was a man of simplicity defined by great complexity. He may not have lived the life he wanted; he may not have changed the world; he may not have understood, but rarely does a man of faith have to. Though his death was tragic for us all, perhaps it served a greater purpose than the island. Through Lockes death did a man of science become...a man of faith.

  • @SimulacraMan

    amen brother

  • @SimulacraMan I could not have said it better. Locke was my favorite character in the series and this song perfectly portrays his story.

  • 1. search rainymood on google

    2. click on the first one

    3. play this song along with it

imagine a man whose good intentions and beliefs led him down a path of betrayal and loneliness... he's standing in the clear open, soaked by rain... he's nearly at his limit, and so he looks to the rainy skies for answers, if there are any...

  • @archnol wow... best combination ever... now I can't listen to the song alone. so good

  • @archnol thanks for that. :D

  • amei

  • This song always gives me the chills

  • In what season did this soundtrack appeared?

  • @MsLaraCroftx First During Locke's Episode

  • @spwf2

    Oh thx =]

  • @MsLaraCroftx

Season 1 Episode 4 - Walk about, at the end.

  • @Shivan767

    thanks <3

  • @MsLaraCroftx :When Locked Kept Asking What Am i Suppose To Do .. Trying To Open The Hatch

  • @MsLaraCroftx First season Episode 4

  • "John Locke was a.......... a believer, he was a man of faith, he was... a much better man than I will ever be. And I'm very sorry I murdered him,"

  • @darrelincanada

    who said that?

  • @MsLaraCroftx

who said what> you mean my comment about John locke beiong a manf faith a believer? Ben Linus said that when they were burying the real john locke not the false locke

  • @darrelincanada

    Ooh, I see ;)

    Thanks for answering

  • @MsLaraCroftx not a problem lara croft.. great music eh?

  • @darrelincanada

    ;)

    Yeahh, I love it.

    Always been a LOSTfan =D

  • this piece seems to fit lockes persona as well..

  • thumbs up if u want loop button for this vid

  • trully a great piece of work. This is another reason why Life is worth living.

  • locke was a badass

  • WHY

     DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING

    *inhale* TO ME?!?!?!?!

  • @tehfrog get your quotes right

  • @spdyeric no need to be sassy.

  • Sigh, I still listen to all this music every single day. Miss this show.

  • His life was sad - because of Helen and his father, because nobody believed him on the Island. But his death was very sad, too! Why? Why did the writers do this with him?! He should have a happy, relaxing death, but he died when he was sad, scared and disappointed in his whole life. John Locke - the best character of the televison. The most inspirating man - THE HUNTER, the MAN OF FAITH. When I see him in the jungle with his knife I feel excited. So WHY did he have the saddest life and death?

  • @Klarbos it really wouldn't make sense for Locke who lived such a tragic life to have a happy death. Especially if he was trying to send a message to the Oceanic 6. It's sad, but much more powerful this way.

  • @evangelism2 I agree with you. But Locke found purpose. His life was turned around on that island, giving him meaning and importance. He died trying to protect the island. His death wasn't as tragic as people think. The guy went from a broken cripple to a hero.

  • @Klarbos hecause he was also "lost" to helen to his da to the rest of the losties, and most importantly he was lost to himself ..inside

  • I've finished watching season 5 yesterday. Today I'll start watching the last season of probably the greatest TV show of all times. I just don't know where to start.. the soundtrack of this show is AMAZING. This song gaves me so much hope, I listen to it everyday. 'Life and Death' and 'Parting Words' are also great masterpieces. There will never be anything close to LOST for me.

  • @PopescuVladPaul Yup. That's what sets LOST so far apart from other shows. It had the acting, the story, the characters, and the brilliant music which added so much more to the scenes.

  • my life should have ended with jack's, i can't feel alive anymore without LOST

watching the last episode should have been the last thing to do before i die.

  • @MusyTheBest well thats just silly,, It was an excellent series but youer life is much more valuable then a fictional series with fictional characters.. get out there and experience it. Its better then you hope and great then you imagine

  • @darrelincanada

i didnt mean i want my life to end, i mean i wish i could watch this episode in the last day before i die, and thats ofcourse impossible because no one knows when he is gonna die, but thats what i wished for, because its just like i dont need anything else after watching it, but sure thanks for the advice mate, and i really trying to live it !!! ;D

  • @darrelincanada

i didn't mean i want my life to end, i meant that i wish i could watch this last episode in the last die before i die, and thats ofcourse impossible because no one knows when hes gonna die, but thats what i wished for, but sure thanks for the advice mate appreciated it !! and i am trying to live it !!! ;D

  • I miss this show so much. But I guess all good things must end. We need Carlton and Damon to work together again though!

  • this was the best song of the show ever...

  • so good.

    chills.

  • He was right all along. Faith>Science. =]

  • @MrJesszilla321

says the guy sitting in front of the computer posting on the internet

  • @DarkLordVivec Science is more than electricity you know...

  • @DarkLordVivec The computer is a tool used for any reason. What's your point?

  • @MrJesszilla321

The Point is the computer works because of the applied principles of science (specifically digital electronics and quantum mechanics), not faith. So to sit here and go "faith > science" while being glued to something that only exists because of science is disingenuous at best, hypocritical at worst.

  • @DarkLordVivec I'm pretty sure the people who invented the computer had faith in themselves and in what they were doing, maybe they were Christians (idk). I'm not going to argue about the computer(*JUVENILE FOR YOU*) The reason why i showed up at this site was to listen to beautiful music and acknowledge how in the series of Lost, John Locke was right in the series. Yea, the story is fictitious, but for many people(scientific and faithful) this song can give hope, happiness, and satisfaction.

  • @MrJesszilla321 thats right brotha

  • @DarkLordVivec Look, call it hypocrisy or whatever, the computer is here. That is it!!! Doesn't matter where is derived from because trying to form an argument over something silly like that only demeans the entire human race and this song. Lost is a great show. It tried to make us find the balance between science and faith. In this case, faith won. There are many examples of science winning too. So, Don''t demean the human race with vindictive comments. It's not what this world needs.

  • @MrJesszilla321 Funny how faith seems to only win in fiction.

  • @DarkLordVivec That's cool. I'm just not beating Science because that would make me into an asshole (like you).

  • I love how he helped Charlie to stop using drugs and some other things in the beginning. But in the flash sideways I loved his character.

  • absolute genius. Locke was an amazing character. This show was amazing.....This show was genius. I'm watching it again, and good lord, it's incredible

  • Poor Locke, nothing ever went right for him.

  • @96chocoholic a car went right THROUGH him though :P does that count

  • The saddest thing ever was when ben killed john and John Locke thought "I don't undersatnd"...... :'(

  • @BluePikminShow I cried..

  • sadness, hope and courage = John locke , one of the best characters of all time , thank you for this masterpiece , may u live for ever

  • dame it the past keeps repeating but i cant stop listening its its driving me insaine why why is this fucking happening dame it GOD DAME IT

  • every time i hear this my past keeps haunting me but i cant stop listening

  • There never was and there never will be a show like LOST. Locke was always my favourite, and this will always make me cry.

  • alone in a room with this music playing at high volume, a glass of scotch, pack of smokes and some memories. period.

  • When I first heard this, it reminded me the Kingdom Hearts series. Very touching track.

  • i LOVE michael giacchino!!!

  • Wow, that was incredible.

  • haha it has to end in the signature horn..classic.

  • Everytime I hear this song, I think of the mishaps that happened in my life.

  • Everytime I hear this tune, it reminds me of Locke's story. He had the saddest past of all the characters from LOST. And then the scene when he banged fists on the hatch, crying and shouting "I've done everything you wanted me to do. SO WHY DID YOU DO THIS?!" Then hatch lights up, and flashback before this, one of the best scenes in LOST. The fact, that Locke was right about the fate after all, and that he died makes me respect Locke. He was LOST's hero!

  • @Anonix123

I look at Locke as one of the saddest characters...ever. All he ever wanted was to be be loved or accepted. From high school, to that drug cult, to his father--he was trying to find someone who cared back. When he finally found love, he was too busy trying to earn it from someone else, and he let it slip away. He kept trying to prove he was something to everyone/no one, yet vulnerable to all.

There was never a more tragic character than John Locke.

  • @furiousdan I am so glad that there are other people out there that see it this way. I've read more books than I can remember, and seen more movies than I've read books, but I've yet to see a character with a story more tragic than John's. After all of his efforts, his firm belief in faith and destiny, his desire to be appreciated, he has one of the most shallow manners of dying: strangled by Ben in some anonymous apartment building...I was SO PISSED!

  • @EvilApple818 yeah. It is kinda messed up how he went. It was a terrible injustice to a great character.

  • Does anybody know the song that plays at the beginning of season 2 where the camera is flying through the hatch?

  • @TeamDataDrain you can look on michael giachinno's site (for the song at the biginning of the season 2)

  • I kind of hated the last season... anyone that watched it and really liked/felt sorry for Locke would know why. >=/

  • @kirby28645 I like Locke and felt sorry for him, but I don't see what that has to do with hating the last season.

  • @ginnoveffect To be honest, I didn't really hate it. But seeing as Locke was dead during the entire season... it's kind of like killing off the best character in a series. Locke was my absolute favorite.

  • This song is AMAZING ,

    Remember " Don't tell me What I can't do ! "

PS , Sry for my english , Im from Poland :)

  • @MrOloNS you have very good English!

  • This should have been in Season 6 atleast once.

  • They couldn't have chose a better song to go with John Locke, truly breath taking

  • This song makes me cry...it's so beautiful

  • this song is pure.

  • This song is possibly one of the saddest, most moving tracks in Lost, and just listening to it and closing your eyes lets you feel the pain of John Locke and his misery, all the bad things that happened to him, and how his life just seems to mean nothing. This song gives me goosebumps. It's so magical, and it's yet another Giacchino masterpiece, along with Dharmacide and There's No Place Like Home.

    Beautiful.

  • i dont understand the saddest thing going inside someones head before they die =(

  • shivers!

  • If they made an 8-episode long show about just John Locke's past it would be amazing and very touching.

  • When Locke finds out his father betrayed him and is banging on the hatch this music combined with his brilliant acting to create one of the best scenes of television I have ever seen and will probably ever see. Locke is a true hero.

  • @UnifiedPerfection I did cry at that part. It was actually a very moving scene indeed.

  • @UnifiedPerfection Also the scene in the Walkabout episode in which we see the big Locke surprise. I think that is without a doubt the greatest scene in television history.

  • Lucky lucky...

"Pat, thanks for listening. Best Always! Michael Giacchiono"

I wonder if he knows how many people really love his work...in Lost, Up, Star trek...in so many things...congratulations on the autograph. This music has meant more to me than my favorite artists for awhile...pure genius.

  • Very reminiscent of a certain piece from the Gattaca soundtrack

  • awesome, michael ciacchino is the best !!!

  • some1 pls make video how to play this on piano )

  • This piece is so beautifully composed and emotional. :'-)

  • One of the most epic, emotional, touching, and emoving scores I have ever heard. Giacchino is an absolute genius!

  • I love this. It's beautiful. Best track off of all the Lost albums.

  • Comment removed

  • And who the hell are the two people who voted that they didn't like this?!

  • @InakoOwns ben linus and the man in black :P

  • My personal favorite theme from Lost. Favorite scenes include revealing Locke was paralyzed and after the whole "You stole my kidney!" thing.

    Locke's awesome.

  • My eyes water up when i hear this, Giacchino is great.

  • This always makes me cry.. So much emotion..

  • love the way it intensifies. you can feel the emotions, it brings back memories :)

  • This song is sooo beautiful and melancholy, I just want to weep every time I hear it. It's truly the most amazing from the whole soundtrack. "Life and Death" and "Parting Words" are also my favorites but they just can't compete with this one~

  • i love the ending of this song. i loved when they played it.

  • The first time I remember hearing this theme was when the light in the hatch turn on.

  • God I'm going to miss lost. Best years of my life :'(

  • The best of Lost OST!!!

  • @YanSoloFilms Don't you mean Lost OTS?

  • @BandKidzRule No, I mean the best of Lost Original SoundTrack =D

  • @YanSoloFilms I meant, instead of Lost OST, you should have put Lost OTS. What does OST mean anyway? Official Soundtrack Television?
