Skoda did hardly any Research!! The Germans saved skoda's backside so be thankful that they did! Because with the aid of volkswagen skoda is actually a good car now. Skoda used to be the butt of all car jokes.
I own a skoda myself Its the octavia VRS TFSI the same engine as the VW golf GTI which is not a bad thing!
Same thing with Vauxhall is not British either it owned by GM which is American.
But dont get mad at me for wanting a cheap VW which is what skoda is why pay more for the same?

Developing of chassis and other stuff is specific for every brand.. and about the price- today f.e. S. Fabia costs probably as much as Golf.. so same class same price..

And get your facts right a fabia is way cheaper than a golf (VW / Skoda dealer speaking) You, "think" I know the engines are exactly the same so are the brakes, all the steering, shocks, springs, electronics etc so not much left for you to come up with is there??
I challenge you to look at a skoda, under the bonnet and see how many are "genuine" skoda parts without there being a VW logo, BTW my boss's audi parks itself!!!
OK, my friend works as mechanic in SKODA Hegr- dealing and servicing skoda cars... so i´ll ask him about "genuine" parts.. but look at this- a lot of parts makes some third comp. f.e. lights are made from Hella autotechnic.. made for all concern + other brands (jaguar and more) .. its made by some factory and next its signed by VW with their logo..
Sure. Lot of technologies are VW. But there is big development centrum in Mlada Boleslav (Cesana). So not only manufactured, but also developed in Czech... For example 1.2 TSI and 1.2 HTP is CZ engine. ASF is from CZ and many more.
If it was fully Skoda Czech Republic, have been pleased with the success of smaller neighbor. I hate VAG! This is the car for the masses. I love Italian cars and bmw 7er:) For me, the myths about Alfa Romeo and Fiat is a whole group of stereotypes. Even a Lamborghini, I stopped liking. I like individualism, is VAG therefore lost. Sorry, sometimes I use a translator.

put the car in a spot place and see if we can park!!! it can't and i can't!! the car only can park in very large spots, so i park it my self!!
point1: save that money from the extra
point2: park it faster and better!
