  • How did you pull a vacuum on the brake booster on the trailer?

    Excellent craftsmanship.

  • @BigBadBobs Thanks Bob for the comment. Vacuum is supplied from the engine intake manifold and is regulated with a hand valve on the steering column. It's very similar to the hand brake for trailer air brakes on semi trucks. I also installed a small tank on the truck for a vacuum reservoir, much like the air tanks on semi trucks.

  • simply....AMAAAAZZING TALENT YOU HAVE!!!!!

  • @bignpie Thanks bignpie for the comment!

  • Cool Trailer Informational

  • @sbjennings99 Thank you!

  • Sinceri complimenti, un bel lavoro!

  • @ammagato Muchas Gracias!

  • Awesome! How much does that trailer weight though....looks like about 3000 lbs??

  • pay no heed to specialks1953...what you did was right in keeping with the truck that pulls the now matching trailer.....youre obviously a welder /fabricator for a living? or maybe should have been....great job.....specially on the lift axle.....

  • @turtlezed Thanks for the comment. I don't think specialks1953 meant any harm. He was just wondering why I didn't build the trailer from scratch.

  • Awesome work! The trailer looks factory behind your classic hauler.

  • @trainman15139 Thanks for watching and the comment!

  • superb

  • @UGLandrum Thank you very much!

  • @UGLandrum Thank you very much!

  • Good God! - With your fabrication abilities, I can't see why you used the old truck frame and rear end. - Don't get me wrong, it turned out great but it seems you could have done better on your own for not much more money. - Truly fantastic metal working talent. - PS: I'm guessing you did remove the gears from the rear end because they cause so much drag.

  • @specialks1953 Thanks for the comment. The whole idea behind the trailer build was to have parts for my '48 chevy truck that you see in the video. It's my work truck that I drive just about everyday and it's nice to have the hard to find parts, axles, brake drums, wheels, etc. on hand. So, by using the the same kind of truck for the trailer, I have those parts on hand in case of an emergency. I also saved a lot of the parts from the old truck that aren't on the trailer.

  • @filmcostar Thanks for the comments! I'll have a new trucking video up soon, hope you enjoy it.

  • @filmcostar I posted a new video a couple months ago, "The Blue Truck". My truck makes an appearance at the end and hopefully soon I'll start working on a video featuring my truck. Thanks again for the comment.

  • Thanks again for all the comments! I can't believe over 6000 views. I sorta figured that my video PaulyBuilt 2008 would have been a bigger hit, but this little video just keeps truckin' along. Thanks!

  • Fine Business on your trailer build!

Was the donor truck a '52 Chevy Loadmaster?

    John

  • John, I think the donor truck was a late '47 or early '48 Loadmaster. It had the outside saddle gas tank, pull down door handles, and no window vents. There were a few little things different than my '48 Loadmaster, but essentially the same. I believe the '52 had the push button doors, but I don't know for sure.
