WOW it looks like MANTIS from hell because of the color i got a baby PRAYING MANTIS is green and it feeds of moth because is scared of grasshoppers is kind of timid its name is HUNTER . :)
@truedimebagdarrell there's video showing a mantis slaying a mouse and thats's what its called "mantis slaying mouse". Large species of mantis can prey on small mice,lizards,snakes.
my African mantis caught a 1" fly and it lifted my mantis up a couple of times but it held on to the leave it was standing on. my mantis was about 1 1/2 inches at the time. it was awesome and idk what kind of a fly it was but it had black and white stripes.
LOL, I think you mean less than two centimeters wide and only a couple of centimeters long in your description xD But DAM that looks hella cool...Though he takes his time to eat doesn't he o.o
Damn thats a tough little mantis. Mine doesn't like flies to much.

Is that O. Planiceps? I have those mantids - my smallest male is barely 1.5 cm long - they are really tiny.
