If you paid attention to the video he is stating that the SUN will change polarities as it ALWAYS does every 11 years. The difference this time is there are more electronics to be affected. He says nothing of the end of the world as we know it he is merely warning you that things such as your smart phones and internet could be interrupted.

that news reporter dude is a dumbass you can compare potential 2012 solar flares to Y2K they are two different beasts, Y2k was based on computer systems shutting down based on an error made by us when we calibrated the systems to not go beyond 1999, the solar thing is something thats out of our control and always was, whether it happens or not doesn't mean that the two are comparable, I really wish people would stop comparing this t oY2k in this particular scenario they are not comparable.
