I use a LM8075 regulator, so a LiPo battery 3s (11.1) outputs exacts 5.0v to an 12v cooler, they slow down and this method makes cooler VERY quiet. This voltage regulator can be used to a 5v cooler too. My 360mAh LiPo baterry lasts almost 5 hours. The voltage regulator can be purchased in eBay or in eletronic stores for $1. Its excelent!
I made something like this with my VForce Profiler. It works like charm. I'll never play PB ever without this thing on ;) . You will forget what the word fog means lol. And it cools your face. The difference about mine is that my batteries are in a pocket of my vest and not on my head.
if each fan is 5 volts a piece, how wud 4 AA batteries run em, considering the added up total of the batteries wud only be 9 volts. that wud drain ur batteries quick...
Can you tell me were the hell to get these fans, or smaller, similar, anything... and wtf volts do they run off? cause all i could find were 12v fans at radioshack, and they cant run off a 9.6v SO PLEASE POST LINK or explain were to get fans like those
Thanks for this video, because of you I'm building my own too:) I'm thinking of making a step by step video for youtube of how I did it and the places to get all the goodies and run a test to see how good it really works and how long the batteries work.
I also found a sealed box with a built in on/off switch for 4 AA batteries and 6" leads, google it, about 1.50 or so per box. I'm curious to see how long my dual mini 5 volt fans will run off rechargable batteries, I'll post back when it's all done, getting the fans and electrical wet will not be a problem for me, I clean my mask with a soft towel and windex, I don't soak in water:)
I found a seller on Ebay selling those battery boxes, the sellers handle is leadsbeauty and they are called 4x AA battery holder case with 8" leads , I got 10 of them for $11.00, the seller is out of hong kong and xsfan is out of stock on the mini fans so I found a guy on Ebay his handle is mitek-products, search for: delta 25mm x 10mm 5v laptop fan AFB02505MA, I got 6 of them for about 30.00, he has bigger or smaller lots of them.
You could but you won't find the fans there unless they started to stock them, but yea if you can get them at the shack do it, save postage, then it's even cheaper:)
great video, i use a squeeze activated manual defogging system to defog my airsoft mask without the noise of fans

connected in serial...lol that doesn't make any sense . Series maybe. but parallel would work better. Depending on the voltage drop

This works in the field but the 9V rechargeable batt doesn't last more than 50 minutes. I'm switching the power source to a 4xAA battery box.
