I know how you felt! I'm 1mon. out & my wife had rice wine (saki) in a cup near my water. Pick up her glass & felt like I was on fire. The pain was unbelievable & I felt like I was going to die. Just leave it alone is the key...
Ruben, I'm glad you posted this up. I'm very early, only 2.5 weeks post-op on GB. But prior was 20+ years of partying every weekend, and definitely boozing, but not alcoholic. I only drank on weekends with friends, then sober all week, heh. Not that's so much better but still. Thanks for the info, I probably will try to experiment a little after a couple weeks, just to see what it does. I'm so curious, but obviously need to be very careful, which I will.

I damn near got hooked and not over the draw. I did loose weight (rapid) , Now quit and winter, I have gained some back. (10) from my low of 119. ONE thing I can say drinking one day then days later NO/reaction is the same. I got shit faced on 2 screwdrivers. It; is all about your stomach and your metobo that day. RNY folks are generally /leagally drunk on 2 beers with out us knowing it. A Breathalizer will ticket you and jail you for sure.

I was never an alcoholic before the surgery....I am now......the surgery changed me.....wish they wold have told me that up to 40% post-op became alcholics.
Thank you SOOOO much for this video!! I am 1 month post op and I am experimenting with some wine tonite...very small small small sips. I was curious about vodka and other kinds of alcohol so this has been so helpful! Good luck with your journey!!! I'm glad we have each other on here to count on for wonderful vlogs...not many of us get all the support we should get....so we all have each other! AWESOME!!!
Ruben Ruben Ruben What are you doing to yourself? You and a lot of us have gone through this surgery to make our life better we have been through so much. There is plenty of time to try that kind of stuff a year or more from now when we have finished our journey. What I am saying is keep on track and take full advantage of the surgery before messing around. You can do it! You are doing great so far. Thanks for sharing and Bam 5 stars for you!
You are absolutely right my friend. We need to take our time to adjust and heal. I admit I did try to push it too too soon. However a lesson well learned and hopefully others will learn through my experience (mistake).
Im five months out at this point and I have yet to try any alcohol....scares me to death to be honest! I was never a big drinker to begin with so I dont miss it at all.
Most of the time alcohol gives me some pain, almost like when I used to get my gallbladder attacks, expect I had it taken out years ago. This past weekend I had a few drinks. I turned bright red and my face got swollen, and the worst hang over. So I told myself that was my last night of drinking alcohol. I was never a big drinker to begin with, so hopefully my promise of quitting will be an easy one to keep. I know this will definitely be a good decision after I get the gastric bypass.
plus beer has bubbles........no bubbles, yo. :-) i have tried crystal light with grey goose.............several times. i don't get drunk........it's so strange. i just do it for social purposes. if i go out then i get 1 shot of grey goose vodka and i take cherry or lemonade crystal light. i order a tall glass of water and i drink off the top and pour in the shot and the crystal light packet. it usually talkes me 1 1/2 to 2 hours to drink my one drink.
I tried white zinfandel with green tea. Is not sweet and you get satisfied with a cup!

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I'm too scared to try liquor and now seeing how it was for you I know its not worth it.
