I made both versions which were great! The only thing I didn't like was the cashew one was WAAAAAAAAAYYYYY too salty, and I love salt. I used unsalted, roasted cashews, but I will try next time using only 1 tsp salt instead of 2. :)
The stems we usually remove because it can give your collard greens more of a bitter taste. You can try the collard greens with the hamhocks which is smoked pork. It takes about three hours for it to get tender and flavors the green very well. You should try it. It taste so good!! (*_*) Love, love, love your recipes!!
@sheliene12 Thank you very much! Collard greens came to my life too late. I should have found these delicious vegetables earlier. I make this very often these days. yummy!
This looks good!! I tried so many of your recipes so far and always good! This is a new way for me to eat collard greens. How I make mine is with some kind of smoked meat like smoked turkey wings or Hamhocks or what we called neckbones which is pork which is cooked for a very long time. Once the meat is tender, then you can add the collard greens and cook it until it is dark green or a little soft. (*_*)
@Maangchi Thank you very much! PS- I tried the spicy pork belly, I loved it! My family did too (We are ½ Japanese ½ Taiwanese living on the East coast of US now)
These are soooo good and so healthy for you. I eat these everyday since you posted the recipe. I like them just pulled out of the fridge and still cold with some hot rice. Delicious!
If you want the ones that cook fast with little effort Mustard and Turnip greens are good. but you must wash and soak them because of the sand on them. The flavor is amazing. These you should try.
Wow its very interesting how you used 'Gai-Lan' -Chinese broccoli that way. We normally cook it with oyster sauce on top, traditional Chinese style often u see at YumCha. The soy bean recipe looks tasty...I'm a bit curious about the cashew nut one! Very Unique!
fun video, interesting dish in deed! I have used the pan as a lid trick when I ran out of stove space and wanted to keep something warm but not cook it anymore. It freed up another burner, acted as a lid, and kept the top pan from cooling down. I am curious as to why you blanched the greens before cutting them? Great video full of very useful tips, I love your video's!
I wish I liked collard greens, this recipe looks good! But I am super excited for the fermented squid; I just made the spicy stir-fried squid dish over the weekend and it was fantastic!
Hmmmm, in the UK, we have something called spring greens which are a bit like collard greens. Maybe I will try the Korean recipe using spring greens when they are back in season. You are looking like a princess in this video. ^__^
Love it how you make cooking looks so easy! But I bet it'll turn out disastrous when I try it, I'm so gonna try them out after my exam ^^ Can I ask about the hot pepper powder? Is it supposed to be in powder form? Cause the only one I'm able to find is hot pepper flakes. >.<
LOL...at your comment, "did you noticed, I didn't use sesame oil this time."
I like your improvised take on collard greens. I've only had it in southern style cooking. Maybe I shall give this a try, I've got some soybean paste sitting in my fridge.
Since I don't know how to cook and I'm only 16, haha, I always skip the part of cooking and go directly to the tasting part :)) It makes me want to jump inside the screen and steal the food :))
I love collard greens! I am kind of use to them, My mother is Korean and I was raised in the southern part of the US. So Southern food/Korean food was what I had everday. hehe but I will have to make this, and send this recipe to my oma. She will get a kick out of it. :D

Hmm, you said that making kimchi with collard greens didn't work out well because the leaves were tough...I'm wondering if boiling them first before you do the Kimchi process would work.
Wow, I love your ingenuity. You discover a new plant and you work with it until you find the perfect way to adapt it to your cultural taste. Nice!!! Thanks for this upload. I never knew how to boil collard greens, whatever culture.

I didn't know that there was a Korean way to make collard greens. I love Southern American style collard greens, so I can't wait to try something new!!!
