Ppl are so funny..... the 42 yards comment in the video is what some people call "Humor" You guys need to find your funny bone. To everyone asking did he hit it, any real hunter can tell he hit is cause of the jerk reaction by the Elk but, to those who are not hunters... YES he hit it.
@andraus007 no its not.. shoot at 40 yards in a range then shoot 40 yards in the woods.. it seems way farther.. i missed a bull last year because i judged yardage at 60 and the bull was at 40.. tru story try it. youll be surprised
@lived1974 little river, big river, wilson creek, dog farm, smith river, tioga unit, cedar creek, harness, yellow creek, galligher canyon, skelly, wolf creek, andbrobly 100 other units lol
42 yards may be a LONG shot for those of you in some eastern/midwest states - but out here in the west, that distance is not uncommon. If you practice and know your equipment, even 60 yards is not too far for an ethical shot. IF you practice....
well.. actually it isn't easy to go hunt in my country because of all those treehuggers and veggies, infact going to the woods to hunt is very stealthy but fast. First of all what ever you do before leaving your house, don't let anyone see your camo suit or hunting equipment, or they probably follow you to forrest and make your hunting impossible I usually leave my house with car and I have just normal clothing like jeans or stuff and when I have reached forest I transform into hunter :D
in scandinavian countries (Sweden, Norway, Finland) It's like a lifestyle and way to live. Our people have been hunting as long as our history knows, since stoneage I guess.
Awesome!! Who cares what bow you used or arrow. I thank you for the video and I hope you got him. A great shot and film!!! I also like how you did not state you missed or got him. It is awesome!!! Ignore the people who want to criticize you. Salut
I have to agree with most people on here. You made a terrible shot. there was no way that was 42 yards. First off, you didn't let the animal stop moving before you shot and second, you were taking a shot way to far for even the best archers. You give bow hunting a bad name.
How does he give bow hunting a bad name? Mabye he's a novice? I'm sure you were perfect right when you started bow hunting, if you even bow hunt that is.
That was no 42 yd shot my friend. I do a lot of archery elk hunting and that was a risky shot at best. Learn not to take risky shots, they give archery hunting a bad name.
This video truly sucked. You suck. You are a lousy photographer and even lousier hunter.
Take a tip, you want to move in on your subject and fill the frame. I know that you're hunting, but watch the old American Sportsman series some time and try to learn something.
what the hell, are you a bow hunter or rifle geez look like 75 yards, don't draw unless you can make a kill. some people give bow hunting a bad name.vid sucked give up bow hunting your a danger to others out there, take up golf please.
Oregon has some really good herds of elk on the coastal side and I've heard that eastern Oregon has many. I've just started bow hunting this pass season and have not yet let an arrow fly for elk. Bagged my deer but passed up a lot of shots on elk because of range. I would of guessed 50 yards for your shot. Good luck this season and looking forward to more clips.
I live in Cali.. ive been wantin to come up to OR to hunt elk... my dad went once.. he had a shot at a huge bull that was only like 10yds away, but it was too dark and he didnt see the branches between him and the elk... i wanna get one so i can make fun of him lol..

I don't know what bow you were shooting but my mathews shoots the same at 42 yds as it does 40 yds. not that much drop at 2 yards difference.
