I've seen this film several times and most recently again on DVD today (May 2011), and I've come to the conclusion that this is the wittiest script to ever come out of the Paramount studios! Screenplay by George Axelrod, released in 1963.
I love this film but many consider this to be Audrey's worst movie. She must have needed the money real bad to even agree to do this movie. 10 years earlier, she and Holden had a fling during the making of Sabrina (1954). But here Holden was a messy alcoholic and still loved Audrey and it was hard for him to work with his old flame. Audrey's marriage to actor Mel Ferrer was ending in divorce by this point so she wasn't happy either.
This movie is so cute! How can you not love it? I love that her and William Holden reunited after Sabrina. To be honest, it's one of my favorites. It's cheesy, fun and random . . . I mean romantic! lol.
I love how silly this movie is :)

@AmericanEvita Paramount exercised an option on their contracts with both Hepburn and Holden, forcing them to make the film together.
They didn't need the money, but I think Paramount wanted to create gossips due to Hepburn and Holden romantic past.
