  • Beautiful

  • Where is the reverb coming from? Is that part of the piano software?

  • @babyalex6969 Yes.

  • Wonderful! I've learned a whole lot from this video, especially about how important the 2-5-1 progression is. Thanks a bunch!

  • @MrJazz1024 I appreciate your comment.

  • Hmmm... makes me wonder if Billy Joel once learned this piece as I'm hearing NEW YORK STATE OF MIND...

  • This is deadly!!!

  • sei il + grande!!!!

  • really nicely done

  • This is a great instructional piece, but the filming is off center. I have a 17" laptop, but the bottom notes on the left hand go off the screen, while there's no action on about 1/4 of the keys above the uppermost right hand note played. Love the spirit of the piece, though and the displayed notation.

  • @dmonzappa Thanks. Yeah sorry about the faulty camera set-up. Fortunately it's pretty easy to figure-out the off-screen notes, they are almost all an octave below what you see my left thumb playing.

  • @Lot2learn That's what I figured, being octaves. Thanks for your generosity. This is a real wealth of information and technique for me.

  • Hello, could you give me the score of this song please? Sound for 10 years ...

  • Fantastic playing. Very nice piano sound aswell. I need to get myself a software piano program too. Your videos really shows what's possible. Also thanks for posting all these great videos. I subscribe and watch from time to time for inspiration.

  • O.o beautiful !!!

  • @xXDoppleDXx Thanks.

  • thank you so much!!! this is so beautiful

  • @beatmixxxes Thanks for your comment.

  • @Lot2learn great video

  • Brilliant.

  • Okay, my ears are hearing a 10 bar rather than a traditional 12 bar blues, and unlike the previous posted progressions I'm hearing something quite different:

    I Vii7half dim III7 - Vi7 v7 I7 - IV iii7 VI7- IIsus7 II7 Vsus V7 - I vii7 half dim III7 - vi7 v7 I7 - IV iv7/Bb - iii7 VI7 - ii iii IV #IVdim - Vsus : Repeat

Are my ears deceiving me? In any event, I'm hearing a bridge section to this beautiful blues. I hope you won't mind me taking liberties to see what it is I'm hearing. Nice work!

  • @gregoryusa1 Good ears! Yes, by all means post up a version with a bridge. ;-)

  • So this is what music in heaven sounds like . . .

  • I don't now what to say........how do you play w/ that much soul?

  • @freelowper7 I appreciate your comment.

  • 7-3-6-2-5-1-4 ! one of the most popular progressions used in gospel..i like how you added grace notes and passing chords to it..there's always something to learn in your vids..thanks!

  • @moze1390 Thank you for your comment.

  • Love that! Thank you!

  • Thank you so much for this video. I like this beautiful chord progression and your variations, so that I ordered your scores. This helps a lot, I hope to find the way to get into it.

    Thanky again!!!

  • I will pay you like a billion dollars to be my teacher!

    haha, great stuff as always.

  • beautiful so beautiful...

  • sounds cool, except the velocity curve on the soft synth doesn't sound very natural.... the notes are either LOUD and BRIGHT or very mellow.. it's not a smooth change.

  • Roger, your vibe is deep and soulful. It's an honor to be associated with your masterful playing!

  • just awesome!

  • i wanna play the piano like you~ so good i luv it so much! XD

  • Great job, as always Roger! The beginning reminds me of an old Billy Joel song ( I think) but I can't think of what it is. No matter. This is so pretty!

    Fri

  • I think you're thinking of Billy Joel's song, New York State of Mind, which also happens to be based on a similar blues to this one. Great Job on it! Piano patch wasn't too bad either...

  • Man, this is elegant and very down-home! I would like some more of this kind of music, if you like it.

  • Beautiful my friend.

  • Thanks much for your comment,

  • It's always a dot on the I of the bygone day when my youtube account notifies me that lot2learn has posted a new piece of music. Every posting means a lot2learn for me. This one was, above that learning-dot, a cherry on the cake.

  • @sshawnuff Your comment is very much appreciated.

  • amen

  • Thanks for your comment Wade.

  • This is a really nice gospel blues song, while I listened I came up to me the desire to play. I think, also perfect piano sound for this style.

  • Grazie Alfonso.

  • Jazzzzzzzzzz

  • excellent comme toujours :-)

    thx and bravo !

  • Thank you for your comment.
