  • George does it because he hasn't moved onto any other projects since Star Wars, he's had nothing to keep him busy so he's made it a habit to go back and change the original trilogy. He doesn't care what he changes, it mean nothing to him, he just thinks it's fun to see how the scene would play out if he changed say greedo shooting first or vader saying nooo, The sooner he dies the better. No doubt Lucasfilm will release the original trilogy in original form to honor Lucas when he dies.

  • It just sounds cheesy..I wouldn't mind so much, but it's just so cheesy.

  • now that sounds really stupid.... should i get the bluray collection or the dvd??? help anyone!!!!!!!!

  • He has amazing recovery time for a guy who was just ELECTROCUTED.

  • P.s. George Lucas knows the Nooo was a horrible scene, putting it in this shows he's an asshole. I have many times a day where I could do things just to mess with people when I know they're wrong, but I don't. I'm done being a star wars fan, this shit killed it. I have enough assholes in real life, no need to support another one.

  • I love all the people who don't get why changing a film or anything that means so much to someone, is "such a big deal" It's just showing the flaw of society that you are joining. You don't care so no one should? Are you that self centered and self obsessed? Go watch Jersey Shore...your opinion matters not. Just because I don't ride horses doesn't mean everyone who does is stupid and we should kill all the horses. By the way...Horses aren't bad people...people who don't get changing star wars m

  • Are people seriously making a big deal out of this? I think it fits fine.

  • For everyone who is saying that it's "his movie and he can do what he wants to with it," why couldn't he just put this on one disc and keep it for himself, and instead let the fans enjoy the originals in high quality and not FORCE THEM TO PUT UP WITH THIS LOAD OF CRAP!

  • I can't wait to see what Lucas changes next. Better yet, I can't wait 'til he announces what went through his mind when he added this crap to one of my favorite movies of all time!

  • @MasterROBO360 Gee, I'm going to re-release all the Star Wars movies on Blu-Ray, and I want to make some changes to them, and most of the fans seem to dislike Jar-Jar Binks. Hmm...

    *This video*

There, that should make everyone happy

  • Jeeze, who do you think you are, Vader? Wyatt Erp?

  • do not want

  • Wow...that doesn't seem to be that big of a deal.

  • @AbsoluteVirtue18 well then watch krayt dragon call, jedi rocks, or greedo shoots first

  • Wait... No? OHHH I get it now. See, Darth Vader didn't LIKE that the Emperor was torturing his son, so THAT'S why he killed him. Thanks, George!

  • Serious Star Wars fans are so pathetic... He said No. this doesn't make this scene bad are you fucking kidding me? Stop crying...

  • Wow this is pretty fucked

  • HAHAHAHAH

  • I think this is the dumb downed version because back in the day the music and acting clearley showed vader needed to make a hard choice but in the end chose the good side and killed the emporor. But now they need him to simply say "no" to make that point across

  • I don't mind Rontos walking around Mos Eisley and CGI Jabba in New Hope. But wow this is horrible

  • IT'S RUINED!!! OH MY GOD, IT'S RUINED!!! VADER SOUNDS LIKE A RETARD!!!

  • Goegre Lucas, Destroying His Own Franchise instead of Moving on to make New Movies.

  • I'm seriously starting to doubt Lucas's sanity.

  • Suddenly all that added CG and special effects seems trivial compared to Lucas tainting the greatest moment in the Star Wars saga. If you have the original copies, hold on to them dearly because their value has only sky rocketed more, and I'm sure Lucas would want them destroyed.

  • I officially hate George Lucas

  • nooooooooooooooo(dot)com

    real site

  • To be honest, out of all the changes, the jedi rocks song is the worst

  • LOL, lightsaber rating bar, in a Star Wars video.

  • lucas: james can i get your'e voice for a new scene

    james: what

lucas: im adding a new no

    james: no

    lucas: thats perfect thanks

    james:nooooooo

  • they should just left the no in part 3 not put it in this one

  • Vader whined "NO... No..." like a little girl. WTF. My Jedi and Whills, just save me from this horrible change. Someone with the Force, protect the OT from Lucas old man himself, PLEASE !!

  • @Yodaaaa1 These so called "Fans" That are calling for Lucas head make me sick! You want to save Star Wars from Lucas! that's like saying I wanna protect Nike from Michael Jordan! It's ridiculous... but i'll say this fans like you have won, because he said he's now done with it all! Thanks to all you "Fans" you got your wish..............

  • @RIPKENOBI Suppose an artist painted something beautiful that had an impact on your life. Now suppose that artist returned to his painting 20 years later to 'enhance' it by putting a big red stripe across it. That is exactly how I feel about what Lucas has done here.

  • Comment removed

  • Why the bloody hell did he add the no? It was FINE THE WAY IT WAS!

  • My childhood.. noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

  • I CAN'T SEEM TO HIT THE DISLIKE BUTTON HARD ENOUGH!

  • George Lucas will never beat Walt Disney himself. I can't believe I am actually quoting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3, but all men die, but only some with honor. George would never get that honor as Walt Disney did and that is why Disney's awesome. Star Tours looks way better than any of Lucas's remakes or special effects. In addition, 20th Century Fox was the REAL genius behind the original Star Wars films!

  • @SirGabriel2076 "Death comes to us all, but something much worse waits for you. For when you die, it will be... with out HONOR"

  • Vader's respirator is shite.

  • This version makes this scene very reminiscent to the Mace Windu-Palpatine scene in Episode III.

  • @TheDarthEddie Thanks to the Blu Ray Edition, Vader is STILL EMO! underneath that Mask.

  • @chuggyman1 They'll Hire some Ewan McGregor look-a-like for the Stunt.

  • The reason I liked the return of the jedi (the original) was because of this scene. The music was kind off speaking for Vader and made him look more wounreable and humanly then he is represented. I felt empathy for Vader and was stunned the first time I saw him throwing Sidious to his death, Vader didn't need a "NO" to show that he cared about his son and wanted to kill the empreror. The music and the good acting made it clearly on it's own.

  • You guys are like kids getting all butthurt over simple changes. I really don't give 2 craps about these as long as he doesn't change plots or gets rid of scenes.

  • Although "Nooo" is one of the most common lines in Star Wars, this fits well like a hedgehog in my pants.

  • Darth Haters

  • i know the fanboys are all whining like little kids, but think about it this way. which is better, two trilogies that bear no continuity together, or a saga that, after some editing, makes more sense. I mean, after filming in the wrong order, and story changes to fit said filming, is it so wrong that he wants to change a few things so that it makes sense as a whole rather than two separate trilogies?

  • @InhabitantOfOddworld Amen brother XP

  • Would you all just get over it?

Oh wait, that's expecting too much.

  • This is really what happened, Vader basically witnesses Mace Windu's death back in Episode III, but now, he witnesses his son dying. That's why he screams "Nooo"

  • @SpyOperator Lucas could have use Stock Footage of the Prequel Trilogy(as Flashbacks) like Obi Wan's "YOU'RE THE CHOOSEN ONE" Voices & Splice it in for the 3D Released of the Original Trilogy.

  • @conradojavier actually I'm working on that now.lol like...at this very moment. Great minds think alike I guess

  • @ToroPetrucci2010 I give Lucas a New Idea for the 3D Released.

  • @conradojavier That WOULD be amazing to see in 3D, my friend :D

  • Why so many dislikes? Somebody can explain?

  • @JotyCauldron Star Wars Die Hard Fanboys.

  • Mr. Lucas... thank you for retiring.

  • George Lucas is not doing this for any other reason than "justifying" that stupid lame no at the end of episode 3... The originals were amazing the way they were. Greedo Never shot first!

  • Is this really what everyone is on about? I honestly don't think its all that bad. All i care about is the story and luckily enough that hasn't been changed . . . yet. But seriously get over it.

  • @creevaghmiddle Well fucking said dude, its just a movie right?

  • @IngloriousBasterd96 To me they are just a fantastic set of films, to some they defined childhoods, to others its a way of life. I don't mind these changes too much as long as the story is NEVER changed.

  • @creevaghmiddle Well said!

  • If you don't like it. That's what the 'mute' button is for.

  • I don't mind this change.

  • I dont know whats worse, Greedo shooting first, Vaders childish nos, or the ridiculous Krayt dragon call.

  • @Interioroutbreak69 Vader's childish nos have to be the worst. Whether this justifies Anakin or not, this was stupid. How can this fool be the chosen one

  • It was going ok until that second retarded "no!"

  • George Lucas won't be happy until money is printed with his face on it or all the original unaltered VHS copies are destroyed.

  • what bothers me the most about this is that you shouldn't be able to hear him say it that loud anyway, the lightning drowned luke's shouting out well enough...

what made this brilliant is how he said nothing when he did this, but you could tell what he was thinkinh by the WAY he did it

  • Comment removed

  • I love how everyones flipping out for him saying No...I love the blue ray changes.

  • I don't know about you guys, but I think it's pretty good.

  • I thought being a "fan boy" was restricted to 10 year old kids who have no sense or experience at all. Apparently I was wrong. FFS so what he added it, what the fuck is the problem. All bitching about 2 words, go get fucked (literally).

  • Shit

I ain't mad at cha George

    Got nothin' but love ya

    Do ya thang boy!

  • Star Wars is getting yet another re-release with more changes?

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Interesting. So what, like in another 10 years Lucus is going to add more dialogue after Vader collapses? "Fuck my *destiny,*" or something? In any event, I still enjoy Star wars for what it has always been...fun entertainment.

  • @CreeDaylen no. Lucas will give Vader a third No. NOOOOooooOOOOOoooooOOOOOO

  • I actually prefer this.

  • That's the power of please kids!!!

  • I don't have a problem with this, but I do like the original better.

  • I have no problem with any of the changes. I actually like them, to be honest. HOWEVER, I do take issue with there not being a purchasable widescreen, cleaned up, but otherwise unaltered version of the movies for those who want them. If for nothing other than collectability, nostalgia, and completeness.

  • @Vamphaery: But they do have that. The second DVD releases include the unaltered original movies. As far as Blu-Ray goes, we're still shit out of luck, though.

  • @cigoLxeL Yeah but they're not cleaned up or widescreen.

  • i personally think it adds more emotion to the scene as you can hear his realizing of what he must do.

  • I have no problem with this....

  • Fake. . .

  • am I te only one who's okay with this? I don't think its that bad. Obiwans dragon call...I laugh at that.

  • As italian I hope that Vader's italian voice had dubbed this Nooo in better way. The italian Vader (or Fener) have a more human voice, in general

  • Cool lightsaber!

Oh wait... it's the dislike bar.

  • i was thinking of buying star wars on blu-ray, so i rented it first, this scene made me decide to buy a second hand 6 disc limited edition instead

  • I am so glad I own Star Wars on VHS

  • its a mad house A MAD HOUSE

  • its a mad house A MAD HOUSE

  • people really its still the same movie little changes thoe they look moe real life now and the no i dont care about i kinda like it shows more emetion from vader sincewe cant see his face ok

  • @darthcyon That was the whole point, You can't see his face. But you can still tell he has emotion.

  • If he pulled off the helmet and it was Haydenn Christensen, would anyone be surprised?

  • It's better this way. I didn't understand this scene when I say the original version.

  • Noooooo, why the hell did Lucas that? o.O

  • Wasn't this a spur of the moment attack? Something that the Emperor wasn't expecting? When he screams "NO!", terribly I might add, you'd think that the Emperor would catch on.

  • @HaloModder555 To be honest, at this point the Emperor didnt give two craps about Vader. Right from probably halfway through Empire, he figured he could use Vader to turn Luke to the darkside, and dispose of Vader, who at the time was under complete manipulation of the Emporer, thought inside probably questioning his loyalty. In other words, the Emperor was too focused on tormenting Luke until he gave in, that he ignored Vader.

"The Sith, always betray each other."

  • If he didn't care about Vader and was quick to rid himself of him, he would have destroyed Vader the instant he acted out of line. Yes he was focused on tormenting Luke in his last moments, if they were his last moments as your comment implies, in an effort to force him to turn on the threat of his life. No, it was intended that he would destroy Luke as he was content with keeping Vader until a replacement could be found. In this case, Leia. Vader caught the powerful, frail Emperor by surprise.

  • @HaloModder555

Nah Emperor had no idea about Leia, Vader did, but the Emperor didnt, until about 3 years prior he didnt even know about Luke.

He saw Luke as his next apprentice. As soon as Vader was reborn into the cyber suit, the Emperor was disgusted. He hated how Vader was less powerful than he was meant to be, but seeing as he reformed the repulblic and technically things went according to plan, he put up with Vader as a further symbol of fear.

Emperor wanted Luke because of his power.

  • @NiCk14AlPhA

Going to further add, this is obvious from the outset of ROTJ. The Emperor practically set up the assault on the second death star. He figured he could crush the rebellion (He hadnt counted on the ewoks though), and use this to show Luke, who he had planned to have watching. He believed because Luke was born out of Padme's torment and is so much like his father, he could use the same thing he did with Anakin, with Luke, and play his emotions.

But he didnt count on the teddybears.

  • Who's the asshole that fucked this up? "NO!" was the most cheesiest lines in ROTS. Why do you bring it back? This is worse than the editing of the Krayt Dragon roar.

  • The scene was better before, but its not actually a complete abomination, if you understand the whole saga, the codes, the conventions, everything.

That wasn't Vader saying no to palpatine.

That was Anakin saying no and breaking out of Vader.

Think about that hypothesis for a second, it sort of makes sense.

  • @NiCk14AlPhA I can kinda see it for that reason. After all, Anakin is the father of Luke and the "fear" that got drilled into him the first place by the Emperor to become the second person known Vader. Not a bad concept just to add those two lines in, doesn't mean the film became a failure. So I completely agree by your hypothesis!

  • @InsidiousBo The fact that people say the prequels were bad and so many changes are horrible, is one sided. It depends how much people understand the films and reasoning, and how many people just jump on the "worst thing to happen to star wars was George Lucas" bandwagon.

I agree at times changed can be stupid and in some ways, the OT was better, but it doesnt make the prequels bad. They make sense, help fuel the OT AND introduce star wars to a new generation.

They're all great films, even ep1

  • @NiCk14AlPhA Who is the protagonist in The Phantom Menace?

  • @i7omahawki

    Uhhh....number of foes.

Trade Federation primarily, nute gunray is the overlord of that, Darth Maul too as the Jedi realise the Sith have returned but they dont know if he was master or apprentice. And if you wana be REAL technical, Senator Palpatine, as **SPOILERS** hes the Emperor later on, he uses the whole of EP1 to get power.

Thats why i like EP1, it shows exactly HOW events began.

  • @i7omahawki

A-men to that, however in my opinon i dont like this new scene xD

But i can see why Lucas did it...

  • @NiCk14AlPhA Everything he said. And please, let's stop bashing every single change made by Lucas, they're not all that bad...

  • Comment removed

  • @NiCk14AlPhA Lucas shoud alter the prequels to fit in with these films, not vice-versa.

  • @cybersaur

No he should alter them however he wants. Its his series, not the fans.

The fact is so many older people prefer the old ones they forget what star wars is about. Its not about Luke. It never was. It was always about Anakin. Even in the OT. It was about how he turned back to the light side.

If Lucas had not done the prequels, fans would moan anyway wanting them. He did them to explain what happened.

Even episode 1. It explain Ankins early trauma and how Palpatine got in power.

  • @NiCk14AlPhA that'd be fine if George was altering them for his own personal use. but that fact is george alters these movies, then those versions are the ONLY ones available, it's not like when people complain about remakes, because the original is still available. there's no originals available when he does this garbage. he shouldn't just alter them however he wants to, because he is not the consumer. i don't want a version of star wars where greedo shoots first. george lucas is a fool.

  • @sagerbj86

Your both wrong and right. More to the right but still...

Your the consumer but then again he's the one who owns rights and is allowed to change them. This is a technical age, there would be the same moaning if nothing was done about it. Film industry is alive, and you can still buy originals or none changed and all that, plenty of sites show it. If im honest, Star Wars is still as classic and real as it always has been.

  • @NiCk14AlPhA "Its his series", check again, Gary Kurtz was the talent behind Star Wars, he came up with images that would later become legendary.

Not to mention, I grew up when the prequels came out and I still hate them, don't you know anything about subtly? This scene wasn't about Luke, it was Vader redeeming himself, you didn't need ANY dialogue.

You have no idea that you are being fooled into falling for them CGI toys commercials, anyone who's seen RedLetterMedia knows such.

  • @cybersaur

Images, not story and idea though. Plus its Lucasfilm who makes them.

And i know this is about Vader, and it didnt need it, but its not ruined by it either. Vader says no to himself, in fact Anakin probably screams at Vader and breaks out. Early in the film this is evident of it, when he tells Luke its too late for him, Ankins sorrow is shining through there.

And there is no fooling anything. I still prefer the OT, which i have recorded, even though i grew up with the prequels.

  • @NiCk14AlPhA Fair enough if you interpret this as Anakin breaking through, but that can easily be told without the 'Nooo!', him throwing the Emperor over the balcony is more than enough to show this, there didn't need to be any dialogue, it's obvious whatever spark Lucas had when he directed Star Wars has died, the man knows nothing about art- hence the patronising dialogue of PT.

  • @cybersaur No i agree, there didnt need to be any what so ever, i prefer it without dialogue. And well i dont think so. Many of the things in the prequels are ideas that never came to life fully. I think Coruscunt is one of those, along with Vaders talent of flying when he was younger.

All im saying, is that out of some of the changes in the past, this is one of those that isnt SO bad. I mean, it still has that emotional feel, especially now the saga is complete, he said "No" finally to Sidious

  • @NiCk14AlPhA Well maybe i should say, "No" to sidious and himself. No dount he saw Palpatine doing almost what he himself had done to Padme, realising the Sith stop at nothing for greed.

  • @NiCk14AlPhA

    Ah screw it.

  • @NiCk14AlPhA Well said mate.

  • @NiCk14AlPhA I get what you're saying, but the camera work alone is good enough to tell that the Jedi inside of Vader is returning. The giant "no" really wasn't necessary at all.

  • @NiCk14AlPhA No, you see, it is an abomination because it's the difference between good filmmaking and hack schlock. The original scene conveyed Vader's conflict and emotional state through pure cinema; lighting, camera work, etc. It was beautifully executed. This just shits all over that subtlety and art with a big dumb hammer to the face, "DO YOU GET IT? IT'S DRAMATIC. GET IT?"

Yeah, we got it before and it was really moving, now it's stupid.

  • @NiCk14AlPhA

    NNNNOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo!!!!!!

  • He sounds simple. Just a short "No" as in nope, not gonna happen, now you gonna get tossed. Would have worked. Something understated and final. Change bad. This change? Worse.

  • No! NO! WHAT THE FUCK NO. Are you kidding me, why the hell would you mess with this scene?

  • my thoughts on it.. while it's endearing i can see why they took it out and which one it actually came from. It's the "no" from Ep. III when Vader had learned about Padme's death.

  • The art of it all was that you could really feel what darth vader's emotions and facial expression were throughout the movie without him having to speak. Why ruin this?

  • Is this a joke?

  • @pelle1243 sry, fraid not ^^" I always felt the moment before Vader picked up the emperor was a tad empty/missing something, but this is not at all what I had in mind.

  • Luke Skywalker as the Original Trilogy Unaltered

    Palpatine as Geogre Lucas

    Darth Vader as the Fanboys

  • considering some of the other cheesy add-ins, this is pretty tame guys. Plus i think we can all agree that ep 1's crackhead yoda puppet had to go.

  • Sigh....

  • And this is the reason I'm not seeing Star Wars in 3D, it's just going to encourage him to keep re releasing and changing them.

The worst part is that he didn't even direct the film and he's altering it

  • @Guamx2010 For one thing, it went down the pit along with his hand. Unless of course they changed that too.

  • @ProtoKun7

As horrible as that fucking sounds whats more likely to happen is Lucas replaces the legendary JEJ with Chad Vader -_-

  • Comment removed

  • The entire point of the scene is that he's making the most difficult decision of his life, and even though we can't see his face, we're going through the process with him due to his body language.

...BUT NO. AUDIENCES ARE FUCKING RETARDS WHO NEED THE MOVIE TO TELL THEM WHAT THE CHARACTER IS THINKING. EVEN THOUGH THEY'VE KNOWN EXACTLY WHAT HE DOES IN THAT SCENE FOR 30 FUCKING YEARS. JUST LIKE LUKE JUMPING INTO THE PIT IN BESPIN. AND JUST LIKE THAT, THE SOUND QUALITY IS SHIT. FUCK YOU LUCAS.

  • All the more reason why I'm NEVER selling my original 1977-1983 Star Wars VHS tapes before any changes were made

  • @historyfreakfroman you sir, are a god. i wish i was born when these were just being released, i hate my generation

  • @AyJayG002 Actually my parents owned them, I was nine years old when these movies were re-released in theaters when he added CGI effects

  • @historyfreakfroman still, i envy you

  • Sounds like he just found out he was knocked up.

  • lol. it was literally 3 seconds! sure, it wasn't needed, but i don't see how this ruins the movie at all. sometimes i hate to call myself a star wars fan. you're all just whiny little bitches.

  • my balls george, please not my balls

  • Huh.....well, Ironically, the only thing I can really say about this change is,

    No.

  • uhh,wtf happened to taking out your light saber and stabbing him with it??

  • The second "no" is taken from the Episode III ending when Vader learns Padme is dead. That was cheap using the same voice clip instead of asking James E. Jones to dub it again :(

  • @Sacrenouille They'll let Chad Vader say "NOOOOOOOOOOOO" in the 3D Released.

  • Comment removed

  • @Interioroutbreak69 Because this is a real change Lucas made for the blu ray. It aint a parody.

  • holy shit cameras were better in those days than they are now!

  • Totally killed the drama.

  • Fans watch as Lucas alters film, sees what he does, "NOOOOO!" grab Lucas and throw him into the pit of retirement.

  • Lucas: I have altered the film, pray I don't alter it any further.

  • @spartanjedi41 lmfao.

  • Why does George Lucas go back to his masterpiece and make it a piece of shit? I hate you for now ruining my greatest childhood memory of darth vader

  • George wanted to put a Gungan in Red Tails. He wasn't allowed, so hes going round saying Hollywood is racist. Intergalacticly Racist.
