People. first thing: yes, clap loop is broken, second thing: no, it does not break the game. Come on, it's not that easy to execute if you're mid fight. Remember, not all people can play like Dio.

And to emphasize how hard it is, even Dio messes it up. Watch any of his matches, you'll see he messes the timing a lot of them. Anyone who plays Ragna know the timing for Inferno Divider into 5B>6A right? The Claptrap is basically that timing repeatedly, only with a less active timeframe.

To execute this midfight takes amazing planning and set up against people who know how to play the game properly.

And for anyone still saying the Claptrap is the only way to play Carl, play the game more.

the clap loop is the reason i stopped playing carl. the fact that his A game relies on mastering that stupid thing just ticked me off. and i was the one doing it to ppl. thankfully its out of the next one so i need 2 start playing him again

well i finally played against multiples carls and i beat them all. lost my first match but beat the other 6-7 times i faced carls.

and i dont bad mouth a character because i cant use them. like i cant use hakumen or litchi and i like them. i just hate how carl the character itself (his personality and the strategies for him to win)

dude you need to relax your balls, i played carls and i admit they are fun to play against, but i beat most of them except for the first match. and i play ragna and tager how the hell am i suppposed to mash with a tager.

and ragna i understand but if i mash my drive or any of my special moves or something i easily get punished

then you are not just good with it, sucking at using a character is not a really valid reason for you to hate him, at least hate him for something like having an infinite lol, it's fun to do btw against people, though i need to practice more on it XD

I have no problem losing to a good carl. I do, however, have a problem with fighting a person who wins through an infinite combo loop that consists of two moves. At least it's not going to exist in the next game...

This a thousand times. I lost a round to a carl who did EXCELLENT crossups and such. I was seriously stuck guessing what was gonna happen. In the 2nd round, he got a lucky counter hit and launched me into the claploop. I promptly dropped the match because I was disappointed that someone who clearly beat me without an inescapable infinite had to rely on it to secure his win.

But such is 'competitive play'. There's a reason they're called tourneyfags and not tourneyfriends.
