now i am white and i have long dry brital hair will this have the same affect for my hair, or do you know if it will? i deff need some hair care tips bc my hair gets knotted sooo easily... oh and its naturally curly hair..
@kimvanmayo Unfortunately, I don't know how your hair or scalp will react. I would try it out to see what results it would have on my own hair. So experiment and let me know how it works out for you.
@ltshkrd That's great; I'm glad that it worked out for you! The usage all depends on you and your hair needs. I use an ACV rinse after every time I condition my hair (whether it's after washing with shampoo and then conditioner. weekly or just a co-wash, biweekly) because my scalp doesn't like any residue left on it. In the past, I used it after I washed my hair with shampoo, but now, I get better results from using it as a final rinse. So experiment with it and see which way you like it best.
That is super diluted. Have you tested the pH? I'll try your mix during my next wash. I usually do two cups water, 1/4 cup ACV and 1 tablespoon honey. The pH is 4. I do my ACV rinse after I rinse out my deep conditioner with cold water. I don't rinse out the ACV mic. My hair feels great afterward. I'll try a more diluted/higher pH mix and see how it goes.
@CelineCarey No, I haven't tested the pH, but when I get some test strips, I will. I do mine as a final rinse now too and I don't rinse it out either. I love the way my hair feels too especially my scalp since it doesn't like anything on it. Please let me know how it works out for you.
@CelineCarey dont go any higher than 5 in ph anything higher and it wont retain your natural oils for your hair but thanks for letting me know that your mix is ph 4 yours is actually the preferred ph for afro hair types ill try yours after my wash and conditioning
didnt have any of that either...i had heard of that. but i found somewhere that you could use Dish detergent. So I did one wash with it alone, then another with it mixed with Kinky Curly Come Clean and then Come Clean by itself and it was mostly gone, I found some sticky spots later as it dried, and I ahd to rewash those parts, but it helped and my hairs normal now. I did deep condition with knot today afterwards, and used as a leave in once everythin was out of my hair. But thanks though!!!!
@CamilaRox11 You're welcome! That's great that you found something to use. It's possible that you wore the braids too long (I've done that in the past too) because of the amount of buildup in the hair. Next time, you could do weekly rinses with water or apply astringent with a cotton swab to remove some of the buildup on the scalp. Also you may not want to wear the hair braided for that amount of time. Also you can use lemon juice in conditioner or a clarifying shampoo or conditioner. HTH.
i only had the braids in for 5 weeks!!! MY friend who did it said she usually keeps them in for 4 to 6 and then i read online u shouldnt wear them more than 2 months so i thought i was good. and if i clean my scalp..i control the sticky hair? it was mainly my relaxed ends ..not my roots or scalp that were sticky with buildup! but idk i hadnt worn braids in a long time. but i heard to moisturize it alot becux not only did it keep moisture in it could also take from the hair (had synthetic hair)
hey is there any other way of removing build up thats not using Apple Cider Vinegar?? The supermarkets closed now and I dont have any and neither do my roomies. I took out my braids a week ago, i realized it was kinda sticky once it was rinsed and dried. And then this time after washing it again...i realized it was sticky...and i looked at it after i had deep conditioned it....and rinsed it...it looked like there was stuff in it...and then i was like ohh buildup... i dont like the feeling :(
@CamilaRox11 Yes. If I was in your shoes, I'd rinse my hair thoroughly with warm water using a hose and then follow this tip from motowngirl-dot-com. Mix 1 tablespoon baking soda to 2 cups warm water. Apply to hair (with a spray bottle or pour it on), massage it in, rinse out well with warm water. Use more water, if you must, but not more baking soda. Or you can mix the baking soda with shampoo (1-use), but you MUST do a deep conditioning moisturizing treatment afterwards; video is posted.
yea i know ppl do shampoo conditioner and then the acv rinse but how like just the acv or its supposed to be mixed with water like 2 parts water n 1 part acv???
@princesspearlskmk When making an ACV rinse, you should mix it with water. I don't know all the technical reasons, but I'm sure it helps with the pH instead of applying straight-up vinegar to your hair and scalp. Also you don't use as much of the apple cider vinegar and that saves money ;-). The combination I use in my video is what works for me. You could start off with that and then maybe add more, if you think you need it. Don't do ACV rinses too often because they can be drying to the hair.
I just pour it over my head a few times. I keep a bowl under my head when I use the ACV rinse in the sink. When I pour the rinse over my hair, it works it's way to my scalp. Then, I pour the rinse that's collected in the bowl back into the measuring cup and pour it on my head again working it towards the front of my head.
I would recommend not to use it too often because it can be drying to the hair. It's suggested that it can be used after shampoo and/or conditioner. Some use it once a month, others use it to help remove product build-up, or for itching scalp. So it depends on you. I did a conditioning wash recently and used an ACV rinse after. I try to wash my hair once a week, but I don't always and now that it's colder, I find my hair needing more moisture. So I wash & condition once and then halfway CO wash.
Unfortunately, I don't know about ACV keeping hair loss or baldness away, but maybe someone that views this video can assist us in this area with a comment. Also you can do a search on ACV and hair loss, but I'm sorry that I don't have more information.
Your mix is even more diluted than mine: I use 1 tablespoon ACV per cup of water. With my current length, I make 4 cups' worth for one rinse. I don't use super-cold water but I prefer it cooler than the water I washed/rinsed with. I do think cool/cold water makes a difference in terms of shine.
I do mine after co-washing, and I don't rinse it out. Sometimes if I have a lot of buildup (not often) I use it AS a wash, and then I'll rinse it out. Right now I use it after every 3rd-4th co-wash.
I love to rinse my hair with cooler water, but I was so sleepy when I made this video that I didn't want cold water on my head. I have to take a look at your channel to see what else you have about your hair ;).
After seeing your video, I'm realizing that I used waaaaay to much vinegar in my rinse lol. I do my acv rinse twice a month (probably should be more). I use it after my pre-poo, right before my shampoo.
LOL, you sound like me when I wash my hair [it's 4 weeks and counting, LOL; I might wash it today, but it takes so long to do (holds head in shame)]. I'll probably wash it today, but IDK, LMBO)!

@ltshkrd The smell dissipates after the hair dries. I've been using it so long that the smell doesn't even bother me anymore.

You may want to try using less ACV because I find that using more on my hair makes it drier.

Not sure microwaving is going to do the mix any good. I'm sure it works, though.

I just microwave the filtered water a little bit because I didn't want to put cold water on my head.
