Because they work in a much more violent environment than we do typically in the US, and they are more PRACTICAL and REALISTIC. They realized a long time ago that just because you are a paramedic doesn't mean you don't have the right to defend yourself.
I am from the US, and we don't tie the patient at the lower ankle and foot and the strap system is different. I see something that is definetly faster, and better secured. By the way is the one medic carrying a handgun? Thanks for the demo...Shaom
I am also from the U.S. and I just took my Indiana state practical today. I think this strapping system is much easier and it prevents the pt. from moving around too much. I passed all of my stations except supine and it was because of strapping difficulties!!!! I wish I would have been able to do my backboard like this...I think I would have passed it the first time and not had to do it a second time and now a third time...
never step over the patient!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The knee positioning is wrong when tilting the patient over. The outside knees, in regard to the patient, have to be up, inside knees down.

no, first thing is scene safety. THEN bsi.

@jeannie5056 First thing we say is "Scene Saftey BSI". Automatic fail if we don't. There is no saying BSI without Scene Safety hah.

@cubanitodehialeah in israel, if the scene is not safe, the EMT can make it safe by using deadly force
