You know, here's what Nintendo needs to do to truly end this little era of "graphical domination".
They need to release smash hits all over the lifespan of the Wii U. They need some great launch titles. If they already have Pikmin 3 under development, they'd better have that as a launch title. And they'd need a Mario game as well, and a new Zelda would help a LOT. But it can't stop there. It needs to have a great lifespan with several games throughout beginning, middle, and end.

@carloszarzuela93 Not necessarily. Nintendo has had more sales with the Wii than either the Xbox OR the PS3. By that standard, the Wii kicked PS3 and Xbox butt, and may very well do it again.

Just keep the fairy completely silent, give link a cooler partner (less annoying than Fi and Navi), and keep the fairy for show because the fairy looks good with HD Link.
Dynamic lighting, realistic particles, rubble programs and water shading that pretty. If the next Zelda game really does have all this, then all those continually hating on Nintendo's graphics will have to quiet down and suck on some humble pie before they try to fob off these amazing games for little reason.
@TheBlueReptile this is ONLY true if this is what the next zelda game will look like if it is released on the wii. from my knowledge, nintendo will be coming out with a new system that willbe more gamer friendly over being family friendly. if the new zelda game is going to be on THAT system, then no... people can still gripe over the graphics until that system comes out. nintendo graphics do suck and anyone who disagrees is a fool.
@xblindside7290 I'm talking about the graphics of the next console, not Nintendo graphics as a whole. They have always been one step behind the competitors in this region however Ninty has always focused on creating QUALITY games. Ignorant gamers however disregarded this and concluded that worse graphics = worse game. If however Nintendo does stick to the promise of graphics like these, those ignorant sort will have to step back. These graphics are impressive even for the next gen.
I can't wait to have LoZ on an HD platform. If the environments and storyline are still as charismatic as in other versions, it'll be great to just get immersed in the game.
I also wouldn't mind seeing nintendo try voice acting too. Link needs to remain silent, but in SS i felt that it could have made good SS cutscenes even better, even if it was a stylistic choice.
@Grougal The style is great, but it isn't for the franchise. LOZ's design was becoming watered down from what made it great. I will not lie, WW had it's moments and the soundtrack is good, but it ultimately could have been better.
There was no defining moment in WW that could have made it great, an unforgettable moment. Now, to anyone who has ever played OOT, a simple mention of the title will spark a memory when they pulled the Master Sword from the Temple Of Time. Same with MM and TP.

@Hylian1seven OOT and MM are not ugly by any means. If you are referring to the character in-game, then of course it looks horrible now, but back in it's release, it was an iconic figure. Technology was limited, and it is stupid and idiotic to ignore this important factor. However, the concept art of Link and OOT/MM is by no means outdated and never will be. Same with TP.
SS and WW are not rememberable amongst the franchise for their style. That style can and will never be updated.

It isn't outdated, as many current games do not have the story nor great character design as they once did. Hence the appeal of old games such as; FF7, FF8, Chrono Trigger, Sonic, etc...
The 3D version IS the old game, and HD/3D versions are a cover of that truth. You can not polish shit. You blind obsession for graphics is not the point of video games, try real life.

OoT looks not that terrible on today's standards, but fandom aside...OoT's graphics will make the game less appealing and you'll want to pick up a game like TWW and enjoy the cell-shaded beauty of it. and no matter what no one says, TWW will never look old, not even in 10 years

It doesn't matter about the polish, because if the content isn't there then it is still a pile of shit. WW has no remarkable moments, regardless of it's style, which is why no one will consider to pick it up in 10 years time.
OOT MADE the franchise. Regardless of what you think or say, it is a FACT. Why? Because of it's content, story, and charm. Look outside, nothing will ever compare.

If you had been following the argument you would have realised that I am referring to the style, so classic LOZ games are not a factor. OOT, MM, TP are games that define LOZ. Apply WW style to OOT's 'Master Sword' and it will not be as powerful nor memorable. Tech demo show's it.

Why do the demos always make Armogohma so much more in-your-face, when the game made her so passive-aggressive? One of the tech demos for Twilight Princess had Link being chased by Armogohma, and here she's fighting Link head-on. In Twilight Princess, she just scurried around on the ceiling and only fell on the ground long enough to get punched with a stone fist.
@misssmoshlove The art style is base on Twilight Princess, but this is only a tech demo so it's not from any specific Zelda title. It's showing what a Zelda being developed for the system (and there is one) could look like graphically. And I mean that performance/ feature wise and the art style wouldn't necessarily be the same as this in the Zelda title for Wii U.
@SolidSp33d I sure hope the art style and graphics are like this in the Zelda Wii U game though. I love Windwaker and it's artstyle but I don't want to go from this to Cel shading again.
Yep also some rumor been going on people speculating the new zelda game is going to be following the link to the past. I do remember Miyamoto stating he would like to go back to the link to the past design. Not sure if he means the bird eye view design or he means the story elements and the overworld idea, which they did it before in Ocarina of time, but I wouldn't mind they do it again i mean hell LTTP is still fun in today's world.

@KKmartinz They are, but it won't be really the same. Since the WiiU has more capabilities, they are going to build totally new elements in it. Combined with the old elements you know from other 3D Zeldas, it will be a great and balanced game with a completely new story and a totally enhanced expierience(That sounds a bit too much for such an early time, but i could really expect anything from them and they never dissapointed me.).

OoT looks not that terrible on today's standards, but fandom aside...OoT's graphics will make the game less appealing and you'll want to pick up a game like TWW and enjoy the cell-shaded beauty of it. and no matter what no one says, TWW will never look old, not even in 10 years

It doesn't matter about the polish, because if the content isn't there then it is still a pile of shit. WW has no remarkable moments, regardless of it's style, which is why no one will consider to pick it up in 10 years time.
OOT MADE the franchise. Regardless of what you think or say, it is a FACT. Why? Because of it's content, story, and charm. Look outside, nothing will ever compare.

@JustARTificial c'mon, are you gonna go there? everyone has a different opinion on that, not everyone likes OoT more than TWW. in my opinion TWW is the best zelda a game that i pick up every 4 months or so and play it with friends and family. and if you ask me OoT didn't "make" the franchise ALtTP did, it's the one that got the series up on it's feet again after LA, and it's the one that made the series to what it is today, catching fairies in bottles, cutting grass for rupees and all that stuff

@venomshadow94 18 years old, in university studying CG Arts and Animation. I have played, enjoyed, completed LOZ's such as; ALTTP, LA, OOT, MM, OOSAA, WW, TP and SS. Completed them all, and enjoyed most.
If you had been following the argument you would have realised that I am referring to the style, so classic LOZ games are not a factor. OOT, MM, TP are games that define LOZ. Apply WW style to OOT's 'Master Sword' and it will not be as powerful nor memorable. Tech demo show's it.

Why do the demos always make Armogohma so much more in-your-face, when the game made her so passive-aggressive? One of the tech demos for Twilight Princess had Link being chased by Armogohma, and here she's fighting Link head-on. In Twilight Princess, she just scurried around on the ceiling and only fell on the ground long enough to get punched with a stone fist.

@misssmoshlove The art style is base on Twilight Princess, but this is only a tech demo so it's not from any specific Zelda title. It's showing what a Zelda being developed for the system (and there is one) could look like graphically. And I mean that performance/ feature wise and the art style wouldn't necessarily be the same as this in the Zelda title for Wii U.

Yep also some rumor been going on people speculating the new zelda game is going to be following the link to the past. I do remember Miyamoto stating he would like to go back to the link to the past design. Not sure if he means the bird eye view design or he means the story elements and the overworld idea, which they did it before in Ocarina of time, but I wouldn't mind they do it again i mean hell LTTP is still fun in today's world.

@KKmartinz They are, but it won't be really the same. Since the WiiU has more capabilities, they are going to build totally new elements in it. Combined with the old elements you know from other 3D Zeldas, it will be a great and balanced game with a completely new story and a totally enhanced expierience(That sounds a bit too much for such an early time, but i could really expect anything from them and they never dissapointed me.).
