Spyderco Paramilitary: Update

I purchased the Spyderco Para-Military 2, Camo G-10, Black PlainEdge today and I can't wait for it to arrive! I wish the tip wasn't so pointy, but I still love the knife:0)

have you ever tried the cold steel AK 47 or mini AK? I think you would love those knives, they are such great knives that take a beating like no other.

@nightmarefacility Yes, I do have the AK-47 by Cold Steel. Tank of a Knife! I have a video on it some where. Don't really carry it that much any more.

hey cajun, quick question for you. I own a sypderco military in the digicamo with black blade and was wondering if every knife has its own unique camo pattern to it. I have never seen 2 that looked exactly the same. just wondering. Thank you

@JRB0922 I have two knives with the digi camo, 1 paramilitary and 1 military. The pattern is different. They are both different sizes, but I can only imagine that they would all be a little different. I would think they would be cut out from a larger stock. IMO!

Now that the Para #2 is out, I'm sure you can get the old model for a lot less than $140 - the exposed tang is really no big deal. I got my Green G-10 D-2 Para for a lot less than $140. A terrific EDC - razor sharp right out of the box. The only mod I did was to replace the factory clip with a low rider for IWB carry. Love your camo Paramilitary. Cajunblaze - great review as usual.

Hey its Richard again here,just wanted to add a couple points to my last comment about my recent purchase of my very first KERSHAW,the KERSHAW model "3420 NERVE"It was cheap at around $40 here locally here in Calgary,Alberta and with G-10 grips and a blade similar to AUS-8(its got 8Cr13MoV blade steel) nice solid liner locking lock-up and over-all design by custom maker R.J.Martin i think its a very nice little e.d.c. tool..Sincere congrats.to KERSHAW/KAI for a very fine job! Thankyou....R.

Yes to all that you said. Around 100 - 140, Spyderco has a lot of great options around there:

Military

Para Military

Stretch

Manix 2

Endura 4 G10

Police3 G10

I have a Stretch in Carbon Fiber coming to me here pretty soon and that can be had around that price range if you shop hard enough. Maybe a little more than 150, not much. I picked mine up for 116 though. Practically stealing.

By the way, it was a great point for all those people EDCing something else in their knife-carry pocket. Love your presentation. You either have it, or you don't-- and it can't be learned in school. Schooling only helps refine aptitudes that are already present in an individual. Man, you've probably netted Spyderco a couple of grand in the first 24 hours of this video's upload. These companies gotta love all this free promotion. I can personally attest to the fact that you're a natural salesman. In fact, so much so I'm gonna pick one up. One EDC difference between us-- and it has limited me, but I have my right front pocket solely dedicated for the carry of my knife. I could have had that knife for 10 years not knowing about the tang meeting the thumb. Great video!!!

Definitely a favorite of mine compared to it's full sized brother, the Military. This one fits my hand nicely and it's ultra sharp! You planning on picking up the Para-2?

Buying the D2 para for $100 at the time it came out was a great idea!

NIB D2's go for around $125-130 now, so a bit of an increase.

I freakin' love my paramilitary.

I have bought other spydies to try and EDC ( stretch zdp frn, salt 1, tenacious,

meerkat.) they didn't stand a chance, I cant not carry the para so the other knives just sit in the draw.

Para 2 is on the way though and I think that will bump my original para out of my pocket.
