im glad to hear staind getting back towards metal, one of my favorite songs by them is mudshovel, so from someone whos usuall music choice revolves around Cradle of Filth, Otep, Acid Bath, and Type O, so lets hear it for staind METAL!!!!
I am glad aaron Lewis is back to his rock roots cause he is more rock than country. Please aaron just stick to rock not country music. Staind ROCKS STILL!! Been a Staind fan since the 90's when they first came out which I grew up listening to them.
They were also inspired by Korn's first album, at least for their first 2 albums. I recommend Alice In Chains albums Dirt and Jar of Flies, as well as Korn's debut album to any Staind fan.
okay wow im new to the rock music but i heard this song in my car a couple of days ago and i cant stop singing it. <3 <3 <3 it!!! I just started listening to their songs on the dysfuction album and im wonder what the hell took me so long. Hats off to Staind.
@ToyaToyaToyaToya if you're new to rock and like Staind, i highly recomend checking out the band Alice In Chains. they're the band that inspired Aaron Lewis to write music. plus they have a similar lyrical style (with songs about drugs, hate and depression)
Hey @Catcole8489 how did you get this in HD? I tried windows movie maker its not working and sony vegas is too confusing need some advice please thanks but staind is great! hope this Cd is like tormented and dysfunction!
@VarietyGuy88 Actually I made it HD on accident because I made this on my cousins computer, she has a new HP Laptop I believe it was Muvee but I'll double check for you here soon!
@VarietyGuy88 with windows movie mkaer its working for sure. just click "save Movie and then click " for high definition or something like that, i have the german version so i dont know the exact name of it
heard this on my music station on tv... holy crap... staind is back!!!!.... jus proves after all these yrs they arent shitty sell outs n havent changed one bit n i love it!... aaron lewis is the best!
everything that comes out of Aaron's mouth is awesome!! I get his meanings in all his lyrics, sorry to all of you who just want head bangger, theres so much more to him then just that!! oh and I am no kid!!
@DebrahAnna425 is it wrong to say that staind is originally a heavy band that there music was originally hardcore?...i mean we all have different tastes(just like you) thats what made fans originally like staind as for his lyrics they were always great even when they played heavier :) that didnt change
I think all of Staind's albums are great on their own, they're all entirely different and grow musically. I hate when people say "Staind is back" because they never left. Every album and song they release is even more amazing than the one prior. Yes The Bottom is amazing and Seven will be too, but 14SOG, Chapter V, and Illusion of Progress were also. I'm so glad Staind is still around and I hope they will be for many more years, with or without Jon. <3
@catcole8489 "Staind is back" not in the sense that they left, but in the sense that they are back to their original sound. They started as a heavier band, check Dysfunction and Break the Cycle albums. 14 Shades of Grey was pretty heavy too but that was when they started to be not so heavy. Chapter V was pretty good and a little heavy. Illusions of Progress was not the greatest album produced by these guys. It didnt feel like a Staind album to me at least.
@Gunnyrba yeah been a Staind fan for years, check out Tormented. I realise they used to be heavy but to say they are "back" would mean that they left & Staind never left all 6 albums after Tormented were equally as good in my eyes. & the 7th will be just a good. My point was they don't have to be heavy to be Staind. Aaron's voice makes Staind amazing not the heavy or softness. & since John & Aaron started in an acoustic band together before Staind I think of Aaron's original sound as acoustic.
@catcole8489 Tormented is the album I always here about by these guys, but I have never heard it myself. Except for "Come Again" which was a pretty cool song. I agree with what you are saying meaning they dont have to be heavy in order to be Staind. I personally like Aaron's solo record he just put out even though its more country influenced and Im not a huge country.
@Gunnyrba my fav old skool staind has to be king of all excuses and yes id have to agree that song has a very diff sound that what staind had put out and this song here kinda has the same sound as king of all excuses
@catcole8489 This is the first Staind I can even stand to listen to since 14 Shades of Grey. So the are "back" My tastes have gotten heavier and this album so far satisfies that. The last couple, not so much.
@catcole8489 I'm a huge fan of Staind, but like Gunnyrba says, they're back to an original sound, and quite honestly, its about time, they got 3 albums that sound identical and to be perfectly honest, quite boring. Thank God they got back to their old sound, but what I've heard in the record label rumor mill, they got to finally make their own sound because the record label signed them with the contract stating the first 4-5 albums was up to the band, but at the labels "discretion".
@zombie1478 Yes they have gone more heavy with this album as were Tormented and Dysfunction. But I hate when "fans" talk shit on other albums. They're amazing no matter what sound they are producing, nothing they have put out is boring at all. Some of my favorite songs are on Illusion of Progress because they're amazing songs. Staind isn't the type of band to just "Do what the label says" The song Please is proof of that. Obviously they just like to play a variety of music be it soft or heavy.
@catcole8489 When people like myself say STAIND IS BACK! we mean, they went back to their roots and sound like the Staind we fell in love with. Some of us wheren't into them when, in our eyes...or ears, went soft. So, Staind is back to the sound WE all loved.
Chapter V was awesome imo, 14 shades and Illusion of progress were the big let downs for me, illusion of progress is okay just that they promised a heavy album and came out with that
@texasproof I agree fully. Chapter V gets a bit of hate from my friends for whatever reason, but it may be my fave after Dysfunction. 14 Shades was good and has a handful of great ones (Fray, Blow Away), but I doubt I listened to Illusion in its entirety more than 5 times... :/
Yeah, Chapter V has a lot of heavier songs, run away, falling, cross to bear, and especially Paper Jesus and King of all excuses, and then some rock and ballad songs which are all good too.. way heavier sound than 14 shades imo and much less mainstream sounding
@maclieberman no problem, and yes i agree he will be missed hes a great drummer and i wish him the best whatever he does in the future i cant wait for the new staind album it'll be out september 13 and the first single ''not again'' will be released july 18
