i wish more proper karate fighters would go professional in the ring k1 and mma it would do so much for giving karate a good name if karate became successful in those areas at least in America because now days in America no one respects karate any more because of all the fake crap karate ppl so they think karate does not work. such a shame.

@NakhitX FAKE KARATE PPL what u said is sport karate!!! and that kind of karate never works in k1.those guys were constantly knocked out. and there is traditional karate!and lyoto machida is traditional karateka.he said that sport karate is shit and that never works!!! but putting gloves on trad. karate guy, and he is not a karateka any more!!! so there is not so mush real karatekas in K1.Machida try him self out in UFC and now he is the best. I am training trad. karate for myself not for others

@NakhitX i have thought about this too.. but I practice Shotokan Karate-do and the thing about people who practice this art and understand the philosophical aspect of this art, they understand that it was developed to use in an life threatening situation... The main focus of this art is to not fight... Because people like Yahara Sensei or Kagawa sensei could kill someone... This is BUDO, not a sport... And even Machida in UFC has gone the route of sportsmanship over BUDO.

seems that in USA and other Countries, have no good Karate professors (only Nishiiama Sensei)

here in the South (Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil) we have a very good base in Karate and some other m arts, because after the WWII many Japan masters (direct students from Funakoshi and other styles masters) arrived here

we have very good Dojos, like the Mitsuo Inoue s sensei Samurai dojo

ive been around a very long time and seen some extreamly powerful fast and tough martial artist from every style and yahara is up there with them and yes i have seen lots of him fighting not just on here either

yeah put him in the cage with a decent vale tudo fighter, he could even wear his nice white gi. Although it will change colour from white to brown to red and end up shredded.

Hate to see what colour he would be if they brought him out of the cage, after the event.

Yahara looks good when he demonstrates or teaches something using a willing uke.

Look at the competitions he has taken part in and his technique isnt so good and he uses stupid techniques that get him countered.

I havent seen Yahara hit anybody clean in any ippon competition.

So realy your statement holds no proof.

You just carry on and make conclusions based on what you believe and not on what can be seen.

if more karate dojo trained like this it wouldnt be as popular with kids and we would gain more respect thoughout the world of martial arts much of which has been lost by the watering down of our once fine system a fine example of karate as it should be
