Some people get off on hearing Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen do solos, but I perfer vocal show cases like the one Shortino puts on in the end (or heck, during the entire song). Amazing blues/rock/melodic vocals, I wish I could sing like that!

I saw these guys at the Troubador in L.A. in 1982 when Jake E. Lee was playing for them. They had second slot after a band named "Network" and "Wasp" was the headliner. I don't know who the bass player for Rough Cutt was that night I saw them but he was exceptional, who ever he was. They were using a keyboardist too that had that Jon Lord distortion keyboard thing happening as well. These guys were high quality back then too. WASP's stage show overwhelmed everything but RC were the musicians.

@lester5192 ... listen to the Rough Cutt albums and I think you'll change your mind on that. Unfortunately, this band didn't get near the airplay they should have, then again there were many bands that were better than some more "popular" bands and didn't get the exposure. Where I grew up, the only time you got to hear a band like Rough Cutt was from an old show called Metalshop. They were great a featuring unknown or little known bands. I remember that's where I heard 220 Volt, TNT & Waysted.

@lester5192... check out "Rough Cutt- Wants You" from 1986. I don't know if it is considered their "main" album or not, but I liked it. Paul Shortino went on to sing on the Hear N Aid project, along with many others, and then in 1988 he joined Quiet Riot for their album called "Quiet Riot" which to me was another underrated album.

I loved this band back in the day. Paul Shortino is one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time. Ronnie James Dio once said Shortino was his personal favorite vocalist in the industry. A great compliment coming from the master.
