  • The "revelation" at the end of the video clarified the question for me but I think this would be more effective if the test area in which the circles were contained was precisely square. I can tell you from my experience in photography, a 3:5 square such as the one we're viewing here, tends to make people view things left to right when horizontal as above, and a vertical orientation of the rectangle (short side on the bottom) causes people to view things up to down.

  • @aramilalpha alas, I read my comment and I realized, when I say "clarified the question" I meant that the question at the beginning confused me because I thought the cirlces themselves were supposed to be spinning and I was just having an eye fail.
