Obama has experience, but not a lot of experience in Congress. I think he has good common sense.

As for showing respect for the military, Obama supports Webb's new GI Bill, McCain does not. Obama promises to bring the tropps home from Iraq, McCain wants them there for 100 years. Obama promises not to deploy troops unless national security is at stake. He opposed the stupid war in Iraq. That, to me, shows respect and support for the military.

Have you thought about what McCain will do if elected? No politician is perfect, and the future is uncertain, but Obama has a better chance of helping us out of this mess. Two things make up for his relative lack of experience:

1) He is more grounded and rational than McCain, despite his age-look at McCain's reversals as well

2) Many top Dems with chances to be on the admin. really know their stuff-Webb, Clark, Biden, etc.
