Hey people, I uploaded an inspirational video from this movie last week ( including this speech ) but YouTube official removed it due to copyright issues. I seriously don't know how people are able to upload movie scenes without overruling the copyrights. I mean how here a man uploaded a video from the same movie but its still on YouTube Please tell me the procedure, I wud be really thankful. :)

I'm a Michigan fan, but I love this movie. The only football movie that compares to it, imho, is Remember the Titans, but for completely different reasons puts it on par with Rudy.
This scene alone should have recieved a Best Actor Nomination for Sean Astin and a Best Supporting Actor Nomination for Charles S Dutton.This is one of the most heart wrenching scenes I have ever seen in my 42 years of life.The only other movie scenes I would have to say tops this, is the court room scene from To Kill A Mockingbird and the scene from Grapes of Wrath, Henry Fonda's "I'll Be There" dialogue.

Yes MANY of the dilemmas that happen in this movie did not occur in the real Rudy's life but the message of this scene is very real and holds true to everyday life. I was going to quit the next day. I saw this video and that "Rocky speech to his son" I didn't quit, thanks Rudy.
I feel like Rudy, trying to get into one of the greatest universities in the world. Thank God I have the amazing soundtrack and quotes from the movie to listen to for inspiration. Hope I can get in!

Rudy is my all-time favorite movie. I use this clip every year in my classroom to inspire my 7th graders, and in turn, I end up learning from it as well.
This is one of the best scenes in all of sports movies and this movie is the greatest sports movie of all time..The soundtrack is epic, the acting is superb, and the greatest part of the movie is the cinematography. No football movie shows true authentic football in the midwest during football season.The way you can see each players breath during cold practices. Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau met and became best friends on the set of this movie. S. Austin & C. Dutton give great performances.
This speech is so simple, so easy, and so in your face motivational. I'm fat, I stood with the US Marines, and found out I could run circles around most of my comrades. I had no athletic skill and I played college tennis. I never felt as smart as my peers and I put in some time at law school, and excelled. I chose...yes, chose... to walk away and am now a teacher. I wish I could hit a kid right between the eyes like this and motivate them to step past what they think/ are told they can do.
this is kind of a subtle thing, i think it hits different ppl in a different way. regardless, it has a positive effect on ppl. but to some it makes them think "yeah, hard work is the key and i kno if i stick to it i can accomplish my task." then there is my interperetation, cuz im the little(st) guy around and this just motivates me more than any other speech, i dont have to succeed necessarily to be an incredible person like rudy. either way, INCREDIBLE video of a awsome movie
This movie inspired me to apply to the US Air Force Academy. I was just a normal guy with normal skills but I had perseverance.. and I eventually got in. I watched this movie before I started, and just finished watching it again for the last time. This ended a great chapter in my life. Thank you Rudy =)
I'm 140 pounds i cant tackle im only 5'8 and im doing highschool football next year my first day of highschool everyone thinks im crazy people say i cant do it and i will quit every highschooler there says "I dont care what you say your not gonna make it ive seen people stronger than you and your not gonna play nor make it!" and i thought i'd have to show them but now i realise it doesn't matter anymore all i have to show is that i can do it, I'll never let words get to me cause of this vid.

genpatton - I also agree that The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich is a great book. It's easy to see how Rudy applied all the steps in the right order to achieve his goal naturally.

I can relate so much to this scene. Instead of the janitor, it was my oldest brother saying the same thing.
Goes to show how powerful our words are in changing other people's lives.
If you like motivational and inspirational stuff like this, I highly recommend reading Brian Kim's The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich and Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich. Both books have proved to be "janitors" too when I needed them to be.
This is the only movie in the world that touches my heart so deeply that I have to hold back tears at the end. This is coming from a guy lol, but it's true. I've watched this movie countless times from middle school to high school because it reminded me of my dream to go to Johns Hopkins.

They Were interviewing Vince Vaughn For his new movie couples retreat and they brought up how this was one of his first movies.. one of the hosts said how they love this movie and it made him cry.. so he challenged the other hosts to watch it without crying and he showed them a clip on youtube cos its so hard to get a copy of this on dvd and yeah they read your comment on the radio lol

Never quit, in anything in sports, in academics, in anything! If you're playing sports, and you're having a hard time, drag your team down with you, they'll appreciate it, it'll help everyone, teach them teamwork, it's worth it. I can relate so much to this scene. Instead of the janitor, it was my oldest brother saying the same thing.
Goes to show how powerful our words are in changing other people's lives.
If you like motivational and inspirational stuff like this, I highly recommend reading Brian Kim's The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich and Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich. Both books have proved to be "janitors" too when I needed them to be.

This is the only movie in the world that touches my heart so deeply that I have to hold back tears at the end. This is coming from a guy lol, but it's true. I've watched this movie countless times from middle school to high school because it reminded me of my dream to go to Johns Hopkins.
I watched this movie the day I was expecting my admissions reply and I cried like a baby...
...but I got in =D and then cried even more. Now I'm embarrassed for sharing lol

They Were interviewing Vince Vaughn For his new movie couples retreat and they brought up how this was one of his first movies.. one of the hosts said how they love this movie and it made him cry.. so he challenged the other hosts to watch it without crying and he showed them a clip on youtube cos its so hard to get a copy of this on dvd and yeah they read your comment on the radio lol
