  • G2 is 4g phone right? i have exhibit 2 4g but im thinking of getting this phone.

  • @streach nexus is gay

  • @streach - lol streach, you lose : )

  • on the i/o section of the test my g2 gets stuck on the 2/4 not the 3/4 why is that? Also my highest score was 1657

  • @TripsGCM He said 3400. He has no proof of that, I know he is just lying. He must have a special G2. I know Galaxy S achieved 3000+ awhile ago.

    phandroid(dot)com/2010/10/27/latest-galaxy-s-overclock-to-1-6-ghz-vibrant-sees-fps-unlock-achieving-78-0-breaks-3k-on-quadrant/

  • @streach i get 2700 on my G2 CM6.1RC1

  • your phone is so much kharobe, what have you done with it ?

  • Not bad. My Fascinate(Galaxy S) Scores in the 1700s-1800s. Of course, that's with the Voodoo lag fix. But that isn't the one that bloats Quadrant scores-it's the one that creates an EXT4 partition for I/O, which is what this phone uses as well. I can't wait to see what it scores with Froyo.

  • @streach I just scored 3400 on 1.42 ghz :p way faster than your nexus one sorry next! Lmao

  • @dragonballzfan809 Post your score on smartphonebenchmarks(dot)com. Galaxy S is still have highest score even though only on 2.1.

  • @nraudigy please tell me how do I post scores up, excuse my ignorance I'm new on this android thing lol

  • @dragonballzfan809 G2 at 1.4ghz with 3400? I call that bs. Should be around 2400.

  • @nraudigy max i got 2700. thats it at 1.4ghz

  • @dragonballzfan809 You can do a video or post a screen shot. There is no way you can get 3400 with G2.

  • @streach Well no shit, cyanogen mods are tweaked and rooting makes overclock possible. The G2 is running on 3/4 of that speed and is on stock, yet it scores pretty much the same/better scores than your nexus one. Both are great, but the G2 is just smoking hot.

  • @streach just scored 1725 on a production stock G2

  • @ILoveHTC that's not what the videos in YouTube or u channel says lol

  • @streach check out my website. I just uploaded a pic of the 1725 result on a stock production G2. The one I used when recording this video was a pre-production test model. Unfortunately I don't have the elmo i used to record the video available.

  • @ILoveHTC lol pretty impressive man

  • @ILoveHTC. I got 3400 benchmark result ha! :p want proof just ask me to give yu my screenshot link of the G2 screen on benchmark results that's more than double what the video shows

  • @ILoveHTC yeah I was hitting low 1700's when my phone didn't have cm too. I can get above 2500 average now and I have opted NOT to go to 1.9 ghz like some maniacs on xda.

  • Pretty good result, especially given its "only" 800MHz!

Try comparing Smartphone Benchmarks site though. Desire HD seems to perform quite a bit better!

  • I hope the G2 will be as lenient as the G1 when it comes to rooting

  • shit benchmark.

Why the hell is the fps in graphics bench not shown??

  • @Fr4gg0rDevelopment it was not by design to exclude anything.. I used an elmo document projector to record, and the "microscope" setting provides the best quality when recording the phone's screen. Unfortunately it does not allow you to zoom out any more then what you see. It is what it is and I think better then nothing at all. T-mobile stores should be getting their live demos this week if you want to stop by and see a G2 in person. Amazing phone!

  • As you can see at 1:18, the Nexus One score without Android 2.2 is about 1/3 of the score of the Nexus One with 2.2. If the Galaxy S can get 2300 with Eclair and the lagfix, Froyo might make it's score triple, like with the Nexus One.

  • The G2 has 2.2 Froyo, which includes JIT compiler for big performance increase, and gets Quadrant score of 1499.

My Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant has 2.1 Eclair, which does not include the JIT compiler and has to interpret every Java instruction (big performance loss), and gets a Quadrant score of 2300.

When the Galaxy S gets Froyo (and JIT), the scores will likely be near or over 3000.

Also, when CyanogenMod 6 is ported to the Galaxy S, it will be best phone in the market (at least for me.)

  • is the G2 made from the same aluminum-like material in the Desire Z? also... is it the same color as the Desire Z (greyish). in a lot of the pitcure i've been seeing of the G2 it looks blueish

  • @vortex85242 The blueish-look in pictures might just be the lighting or a Photoshop edit. I haven't held a G2 or a Desire, but when the phone is flipped at 1:22 you can see the back. The back looks like it has a metal piece, with the rest of the back of the phone being the sort of rubber you would find on the G1 battery cover. The front of the phone will probably feel like a Nexus One.

  • Great video - thanks for uploading!

  • I HAVE THE HD2 AND AM UNHAPPY WITH WINDOWS MOBILE. I WANT TO GET THE G2 OR A IPHONE. IF I GET AN IPHONE I WILL HAVE TO JAILBREAK IT. WHAT DO U THINK?

  • @pinkturtlz G2 all the way or u could get a Droid X or Galaxy S phone

  • @dragonsback2strike Just keep in mind, even on our webpage it'll put a disclaimer that 4G is based on current speeds available in the US. So even though 4G SHOULD be more, ours is based off of what is currently available. But then again, no one reads disclaimers.

Nice thing is the 720p capabilities and the new processor. Too many people rumor the whole Gingerbread being on 1GHz only when Google hasn't released minimum requirements. The rumors, the rumors.

  • @pinkturtlz G2 man. It's going to come with vanilla android and it's gonna be crackin'. Screen is bigger than iphone and it has more customization options.

  • @pinkturtlz I will be an HD2 owner for 1 week more (Windows mobile is crap), than I'm going for the G2!!

  • @pinkturtlz PLEASE get the G2! Try it in the T-Mobile store when it's released! I think you'll like it. If you really want a device with the form factor of the HD2 though, get the Vibrant. Or if you can't handle the absence of an actual keyboard, get the G2!

  • I HAVE THE HD2 AND AM UNHAPPY WITH WINDOWS MOBILE. I WANT TO GET THE G2 OR A IPHONE. IF I GET AN IPHONE I WILL HAVE TO JAILBREAK IT. WHAT DO U THINK?

  • oh and im sure that isnt the light notification if yu notice the light blinking notification is slightly above the ffc next to the speaker

  • am i the only who notice the ffc on the phone take a close look at the left upper corner it has a camara

  • @drgangster809n It is not a front facing camera. As far as I know it is an ambient light sensor. The phone will turn off the screen when you bring it to your ear while on a call.

  • @ILoveHTC oh wow lol mybad then it looks so much like a ffc tho

  • @drgangster809n It totally does!! I had a pretty significant light shining from an angle that was bouncing nicely off those lenses. Normally you can barely see them. Phones with front facing cameras usually do a clear job identifying where the camera is to help the user line up shots and avoid blocking.

  • @ILoveHTC lol yu can tell im a beginner wen it come to android devices this will b my first android phone ever im buyin it wen it comes out on oct 6

  • @ILoveHTC the first time i had g1 on my hands i fel in love wit it but i bought the sidekick lx a total regret i hate sidekicks now and the funny part is i had a week to turn the phone in and get another one but wen i saw the G1 it was a week and a half after i got the sidekick and it was cheaper then the sidekick and way better

  • @drgangster809n You're going to love it!! G2 is amazing! 4G Speeds... Pure Android 2.2 with Swype! Plus the amazing HTC hardware. The hinge that exposes the keyboard is super smooth and totally unique.

  • @ILoveHTC yup i think its the same keyboard as that htc windows phone i saw a tmo way better then the sidekicks keyboard

  • @ILoveHTC honestly i had the iphone b4 but i hate it i dont like apple lol i think this phone will b better then the iphone 4

  • @ILoveHTC yea also i herd how sprint lied about their 4g their "4g" is only 7mbps while tmo 3.75 G is 14mbps lol i hate wen im lied to, sprint is a company ill never switch too cuz they lied to get customers, and notice tmo isnt even sayin they got 4 G they clearly specified 4G like speeds not really 4G but almost like 4G

  • @drgangster809n honestly is absolutely the best policy. golden rule reigning supreme.

  • @ILoveHTC lol

  • @ILoveHTC hey should i give my vibrant back for this phone

  • @zachkevinandlos18 do you want a keyboard? The metal materials used, unique hinge, and amazing keyboard are some of the main reasons I love the G2. Plus the pure Android 2.2 & 4G speeds!! This is the G2 & Nexus Two combined!

  • @zachkevinandlos18 i did its amazing its just kinda weird going from the ui of samsung then going to stock android again but is worth it i love the g2 i wish it was as big as the vibrant screen but great phone

  • @zachkevinandlos18 I compare the vibrant and the G2 its only .3 inches bigger not much of difference

  • @dragonballzfan809 Look up quandrant in the Market. Vibrant still have highest Quandrant score.

  • @zachkevinandlos18 no.... listen to me.. the vibrant will be as fast if not faster than this phone when it is upgraded to 2.2. this has 2.2 already on it and the benchmark scores look decieving because they are so far ahead of all other devices with 2.1 on them. every device upgraded to 2.2 is definitely on par with the g2... the vibrant is a better phone overall in my opinion

  • @Khari99 i already did the vibrant is a amazing phone i kno wat ur saying when it gets 2.2 but i called tmobile and dey told they dont handle the froyo update dey told me to call samsung so i called dey said dey dont handle them tmoible does he said he guess that it would get by feburary or march i was like wtf then wat about 3.0 the vibrant want get it will only recieve foryo he said i loved the vibrant but it lack one thing speed which the g2 kills ill wait till it get 2.2 then i will get it

  • @drgangster809n real 4g speeds aren't real yet lol it's more like 3.50 speeds lol not a big differnt at all if u have 2g already. but 3g pretty much helps with videos i think if ur on youtube

  • @da3coons yea i know that 4G speeds are supose to b 100mbps for download and about 50mbps for upload we are far from that

  • @da3coons lol i think its not even 3.5G i thinks its more like 3.2G, 14/100 mbps

  • @drgangster809n whatever same thing. it doesnt matter if i can connect to facebook one more second faster

  • @da3coons i hope the desirez has the real facebook page not the mobile im a facebook feen

  • @drgangster809n oh by the way, people lie to get your money

  • @drgangster809n sprint does have 4g. they are not lying abt that. 4g stands for 4th generation and wimax technology is 4th gen technology to sprint. wimax is still young and does have room for improvement.

  • @brianv3ntura ok well they should especify on that cuz for internet 4g speeds is about 100mbs download and 50mbs upload, and they make it look like thats wat it is wen its not

  • @ILoveHTC yup the hinge even tho some are coming with loose hinge but that shouldnt b a proble bcuz im gonna try the phone in stores wen i buy it so if i get loose hinge theyll have to change it right there im not gettin loose hinge ones

  • @drgangster809n to be 100% accurate - one is an LED indicator light. The other is the ambient light sensor. Hope that helps!

  • Just tried this on my Nexus One and got 1441. I'm guessing I could get more if I overclocked it?

  • 512 MB RAM / 4 GB ROM. Froyo. Gigahertz, Schmigahertz...

  • The Moto Droid X score here is pre 2.2 update???

  • I just hope the G2 will get Gingerbread.

There is a rumor that on 1GHZ phone will get it.

but also this the Fastest thing HTC has put out they said....

and G2 is 800MHZ...Plus something else...

a little help clearing this up.

  • @MrBeyene23 that rumo was cleared by google long ago that it would not matter

  • @MrBeyene23 That has been debunked already. By Google themselves.

  • @MrBeyene23 - Google themselves debunked that rumor a while ago for 1GHz being a requirement. HTC has also said the 800mhz processor will perform better than previous snapdragon predecessors including the 1ghz snapdragon. So.

  • @AltruisticShine did yu notice that

  • @AltruisticShine tmobile is a fuckin liar it does have a ffc i also watched this other video htc desire z first look and it has it also in the same left upper corner omfg screw tmobile for lien, o was almost not gonna buy it for this but something told me to buy it

  • Thats crazy. My Vibrant got right under Droid X. But keep in mind G2 and Nexus One 2.2 both have OS 2.2 on them. There is a big performance increase between 2.1 and 2.2. I think 2.2 on the Galaxy S will be awesome. Notice the difference with Nexus One at the bottom which is 2.1 and 2.2 at the very top with the G2.

  • just pre-ordered mine!!!!!!!!!! :) cant wait

  • This is for those idiots out there who think the MHz/GHz means everything.

    In your face!

  • whoa !

  • Just preordered mines!

  • pre order mine already hahaha

  • can you please do a speed test?

  • @mrjlwilliams That is one of the most useful speed tests around. Unless you mean a LinPack test. Which, while it is better at showing true, raw speed, It isn't as good at showing how the phone performs overall.

  • WOW...

  • make more hands on videos please.

  • wow that's fast
