The Hollies in their later years resemble a tribute band. No direspect to the vocalists that followed Clarkes retirement, but they just don't have the Hollies sound.
This isn't the Hollies, this is a Hybrid touring band that although they sound OK have no relations to the original, the only original member present are Tony Hicks, guitar & Bobby Elliiot on drums.
The Hollies never broke up. There are no original members still in the band, but Tony Hicks and Bobby Elliott have were early '60's members and still are. Their official web site says they performed at De giraf, Emmen on 26th Jan 2008.
So you are either mistaken, or this video wasn't shot at De Giraf on 26th Jan 2008.
From what i understand Allen Clark retired.not sick or anything but he is around 70 and retired. These are great songs and apparently Bobby Elliot and Tony Hicks are the only originals left that still want to play but its good music.
Allan retired in 2000, mainly because his voice wasn't up-to-scratch anymore, most likely due to drinking and smoking habits and age.
He was replaced by Carl Wayne (ex-The Move), who was brilliant as their lead singer. But sadly Carl died on August 31st 2004 of throat cancer. Without missing a beat he was replaced by this mediocre singer called Peter Howarth, who is fronting them in this clip.
His main claim to fame is being a backup singer to Cliff Richard, of all people...
stop whinging and see them live, then have a considered opinion worth listening to.

Tony Hicks and Bobby Elliot are "No relation" to the original band?
I'd pay just to see Bobby Elliot play those tunes. A true GREAT. I know this group is flawless live. They're awesome.

Allan not in the band anymore?
He has throat cancer or something right?
Damn shame. One of the great all time rock and roll singers.
