not all LP are like this. I work LP and me and my other coworkers would never do anything like this. some people do take it too far. but not all of them are assholes
1- I make alot more than $8 an hr. 2- He wasnt hard up, he admitted to needing the pineapple juice for the bottle of liquor in his car. 3- He had alot more concealed, but saw me and dumpped everything, just couldnt get the juice out in time. 4- This was his FOURTH Retail Theft (2nd Felony). 5- He was the PRIME SUSPECT in an armed robbery the night prior. 6- He was high as a kite! I have worked AP for a while, im not sure how long you have been in but this kind of shit can get you hurt or killed, and possibly sued just watch out, remember we are not cops just another guy that works in a retail store.

Ive been in the LP industry for about 7 years, and am now an exeutive in the field. There were MANY MANY circumstances not known from the video which dont need to be re-hashed, but trust me when I tell you, I did my job well that day!
Like the other guy said, you risked your life to get in a fight over a bottle of Pineapple juice, you risked being sued for negligence by using excessive force after the perpetrator had already left the property, and you look like an asshole fighting in the street.

I don't know what company you work for but I'd fire you. Most companies have an item threshold that varies. But a can of pineapple juice doesn't even make the radar for 99% of them. Your actions were, at best, moronic. How much was the juice? You could have suffered great bodily injury or death. A good LP Officer would have burned him inside the store so he'd drop. End of story. At that point its considered the least amount of force needed to maintain the safety of yourself and others.
