  • lovely outfit auntie titli. it looks nice on you. for real. :)

  • There are mexican coconut candies that are very similar to this.

I dont know if they use milk solids or powder in the process, or just pure coconut, but they appear quite similar.

  • @simpfan666 Hi, I´m Mexican and i´ve tried also real barfi, is not the same man, not even close. The mexican candy is pretty much coconut and thats it. Both of them are good thou.

  • somehow, I am turned off thinking of using USED stockings to prepare and EAT food???

  • Ymmmmm.....looks yummy indeed,...the appearance looks something similar to rice krispis treats, the puffed rice cereal with melted marshmallows,...but coconut and milk,...sounds really scrumptious indeed!!! Thumbs up to ya TitliNihaan and thankin' ya for the COOL UPLOAD!! = )

  • @bbrofl ROFL

  • @bbrofl and that's why you go out and buy a new pair just for cooking.

  • @bunnielovesknuckles the reason I said it was because she used her older pairs of socks. I personally would not do that, anything else to say?

  • @bbrofl i was just letting you know.

  • @bbrofl Buy a new one and reserve it thereafter for that process!

  • @bbrofl ...buy a new pair then? :)

  • I love how the recipes are (halal) for the many muslims out there and even non-muslims can try to cook these dishes. All of your recipes are delicious, excellent and

fun. I love everything. Keep up the excellent work and give us more recipes. Thank you

  • Hi, Thanks for your reply. I have have no clue about the temperature. Do you think it can be the temperature?

  • Hi Titli, Thanks for your reply. I have another question about pizza recipe. When i make pizza i put in the oven for 350f for 20 minutes, but it still looks uncooked. I don't what to do. Can you tell me the solution for it. I love you all the recipes.

    Thanks

    Preet

  • @2upreet Try putting the oven temperature up to 400F on your dial. Are you sure that the oven temperature is really what you think it is?

  • I have that grater - so much better than regular ones.

  • hi titli, I really like your videos...! But I have a question: what are you saying at the end of every of your videos...? I would really like to know....

  • @nightheart8927 "Khuda hafiz" is Farsi/Urdu for "(may) God protect (you)"

  • First tried Barfi at Ambala in Ealing, London. Absolutely loved it! Been looking for a good recipe ever since - thankyou!!

  • I am just about to try this - if I do not use cocoanut, do I use the same amount of ground almonds - sounds as if it would make it too dry ..

  • You should be OK with the same amount of ground almonds, but if you're worried, try lobbing in a handful of raisins.

  • nice methods and interesting burfi...except the coconuts. way to much of it. its chewy and u can pick it out of your teeth several hours after!

i know the Moroccans love lots of coconut in and on their sweets, but i just don't get it. my cheek muscles ache from eating a couple of those!

    cheers.

  • Swap the cocnuts with ground almonds...

  • @TitliNihaan good idea! thanks.

  • Sounds delicious!

  • wow...how do u manage to make such complicated dishes so easily....did u go to any cooking school...or is it ur family tradition...in any case u r just amazing...

  • I love cooking! It's all about practice, practice, practice and not being discouraged when tings don't go quite right...

  • Thanks for your reply.

  • Titili shall I make a huge batch in my husband dress socks? Luv Luv darling Esprit in Albuquerque New Mexico

  • Great idea!

New Mexico... Did you know I lived in AZ for 2 years?

  • Hi Titli, How are you doing? I tried your recipe of burfi it didn't turn out well. so, please can you tell me the recipe in cup then gams please.

    thanks, waiting for your reply.

  • @2upreet: Burfi is quite tricky to get right, especially first time. In cups I would use 2 cups sugar, 1 cup khoya, 1 cup coconut.

  • hmm..thats a really handy recipe...but i would suggest adding some cardomon seeds (mashed finely) and also nutmeg (grated finely) will give the dish a zing...awsomely delicious...thanks for the tips Titli :)

  • Nice variation!

  • The Muslim with no muslin comment made me really lol.

  • OMG! thank you for the khoya recipe, actually, I will be using this to make my gulabs. Can it be stored dry after steaming though?

  • Funny you should ask that. I left some khoya in an airtight box and went away for 2 weeks vacation. I have a garden growing in the box! It may keep longer in the fridge...

  • Mmmmm.. yummy! Another delicious recipe and informative video, Titli. Thank you for showing us how to make khoya. I live in a very rural area and it's hard to find Asian ingredients. Did you use sweeten coconut flakes? Thank you again, I can't wait to try this!

  • I use regular grated coconut from the supermarket. There's enough sugar in this recipe that I don't think it matters whether the coconut is sweetened or not :-)
