Hey everyone, I re-uploaded the Automated Batch file creator, MegaUpload got took offline prolly for good, I hope rapidshare is ok with everyone, later when I can, i'm gonna have a direct download link. Thanks for your patience!
thanx it really worked! :) for those of you who's not working unistall the game and make sure you install it in program files to make sure the location you typed in lets you access the game with this notepad file
OMGOMGOMGOMMGOMG DUDE YOUR A BEAST!!! your the best! this helped me allot! and the person who said "My computer is screwed now", yes plasticfungus im talking to u, you probobly typed something wrong in the file that made it startup wrong OR you saved it into the Starcraft file then opened it from there
@user314159265358979A I have the same issue and haven't figured out a workaround as of yet, I have speakers and I just use my volume knobs for sound. I know there is a solution because I got it to work on a Netbook, yes I said a Netbook while explorer was terminated, IMO, I think if you have a program that can contact the correct drivers, you can use volume buttons on ur keyboard, or whatever it may be.
@user314159265358979A But the primary source of the problem is that explorer.exe is terminated is the reason y your volume buttons isn't working, u can try it w/o running the batch file, and see if that works, for testing purposes
@Mirage22X lol allmost forgot my volume buttons didnt work. that was the least of my concerns, because i have a new problem: after the batch file started and explorer ends, nothing happens :( have to log off and log into my computer again to start explorer again.
hello, i have a way different problem which is not mentioned anywhere on internet: on my 64 bit windows 7 laptop, sc1 will start properly after using this fix, but when i leave/end a mission, the game fails. does anyone have a fix for this isue?
@misternipples100 ok thx for reminding me, i thought i had compatibility right but was not after all :p. after doing that the game wouldnt start at all anymore though :/. retyped the batch file from this laptop instead of using the copied one and works now :p thx again
@user314159265358979A no problem, also if the problem arises when compatability mode is on just toggle around with the windows version (ie: XP to 2000 to 98) and vice versa.
ive made it exactly as u said, had a problem with (x86) forgot the spacve :p
but now i solved that too, the progra starts as shown in the video, except the colors are still the same. this didnt solve anything at all. adn it takes very long to start, i see the black prompt screen for about 15 seconds :s
Fuck all these haters, the automated program worked for me. Thank you! The old "Screen Resolution" trick was no longer working for me. Follow his instructions in the annotation about the boxes to tick under the StarCraft shortcut, run the automated batch creator as Administrator, and everything will be just dandy. Thanks man.
Compatibility mode didn't work for me. Opening the Screen resolution window did. Haven't tried the .bat thing but it seems to work for a lot of people. Now I just need a magical program that enables windowed mode for every game... :p
@youmeeln Bro create a shortcut of the .exe file to ur desktop, then right click on the shortcut and go down to properties, then at the end of the "path" add a (space)-window-
Opening the "resolution" window (right click on desktop, select it from menu) did not work for me. I messed with Compatiblity mode (on windows 7 go to start search bar and type "run programs made for previous windows" and the auto search should come up with a mode that works for some. However, The above method was the only way I could get colour to display well.
If you open your resolution settings in control panel then open starcraft it works. (Keep the resolution page running open or minimised it doesn't matter.
@PlasticFungus Check your text file to see if you have exactly what I put, if your start menu fails to show up, hit Ctrl + Alt + Delete, Start Task Manager, Then go to File, New Task (Run...) then type "explorer.exe" without the quotes then click ok then you should have your start menu back
@PenguinEntropy I've had the same problem and have recently restored my computer to factory default settings, it has worked for me since, so I am thinking it is a program causing it, but I don't kno what, but once I find out, I will reply back
@xXghostmodXZ never played minecraft but this in the video is NOT a mod, it's a binary file that controls explorer.exe because it seems that StarCraft doesn't run right while Windows 7's explorer.exe is running, it simply terminates explorer.exe while StarCraft is running, and when the batch file detects that the user has exited StarCraft, it starts explorer.exe back up so all the batch file really has to do with StarCraft is to start the game and constantly check to see if it is still running
Right click on the desktop, then click "Screen resolutions." Leave that window up, and then open Starcraft. Fixed my problem right away. Weird, I know, but it worked!
I had a problem were explorer desktop did not start back up so I changed the last line to "start %windir%\Explorer.exe"
And that fixed the problem. I think Win 7 has 2 diff versions of explorer.exe one for file manager one for environment unlike win xp. I was using Win 7 64 bit Ultimate.
hmm, didn't work. Do I need to check anything else in the compatibility tab?
